Firstly, the stay wasn't HORRID, it just wasn't one I'd like to immediately repeat if I could help it.
The problems: waited 30 mins in the lobby for check-in while some random 'guest' lost her mind up and down the lobby because she was in the wrong. After she calmed down because the police were called on her, I was able to check in.
7 minutes after checking in, I was back at the front desk with the sheets from the beds after doing an immediate inspection. Facial (hopefully) hair shavings were on the pillow, sheets, and bedding. I wish I had brought a blacklight, and I'm simultaneously glad I didn't.
The continental breakfast (served 6:30 to 9:30am) at 8:30am was completely gone, spare one lone blueberry bagel that no one wanted.
The service was just fine, especially seeing how the people I dealt with had just gone though an upsetting exchange with an abomination of a person, all while keeping a straight face. I give props to the front desk workers who handled the situation with grace.
The hotel itself had security doors, but the side entrance was constantly propped open with a rock. The location itself wasn't in a bad neighborhood, but it was definitely right by some big traffic areas. If safety is a concern for you, this is not your hotel of choice.
Overall, it earned a "2 Star Hotel" experience from right out of the gates, and I wasn't even mad about it. I knew what I booked, because I simply needed a place to sleep that was close to the airport, and I slept well.
