Days inn pontoon beach Illinois worst hotel
I planned spring vacation for my family on March 9 to March 11 2025. 2 rooms and extended the 2 rooms for March 11 to 12 at Days Inn Pontoon Beach Illinois. When I first booked in with my family I noticed over 30 illegal immigrants drinking beer in the pool area and dozens of beer bottles on the floor. I ask the attendant about it and he said it’s not a problem. So I checked on in, not knowing what I was going to encounter. It was late so the next day I didn’t want to stay there anymore because there where cigarette burn holes in the linens, stains on walls, brown rust water, people fighting and I was afraid to stay because I had my children. So the next day I canceled the rest of my stay which my canceled was March 10, 11, 12 but they refused to refund me and I payed a 100 deposit and they refused to reimburse me my deposit. I have a 2 year old and I refused to stay at a hotel where illegal immigrants are drinking all times of the night, people fighting and doing drugs. Days Inn Pontoon Beach Illinois is the worst hotel I’ve ever booked. I had to book another 2 hotels in which I had to spend 400 dollars. Days Inn Pontoon Beach Granite Illinois. This hotel needs to be investigated because they have illegal immigrants living out the rooms and it is a health department violation. It is unfair how they not reimburse you for rooms you didn’t stay in. This hotel has so many health department violation and needs to be investigated.

Its cheap…
Gary behind the counter was super nice. Place was a dump. Smelled like weed n smoke in the place. 1.5 out of 5. Cops were called there, reg people live upstairs. Keycard didnt work. Breakfast wasent worth the 20 second walk.

Toilet broke when someone in my party sat on it. The desk staff was no help. There were unclean spots on the wall, a roach trap with a roach stuck to it, a piece of glass in the bed. Desk staff didn't speak English. Our door was broken and did not latch. The breakfast was just cold cereal, bread for toast and juice. We had to get all our keys reprogrammed multiple times.

Connie was the most amazing hotel manager. She treated us like family. We were blessed to have such a loving and kind lady take care of our reservation. The hotel owners also provided us with a great place to take our grandkids to play darts and shoot pool. Thank you from our family.

It was cheap so I took it. Next time I'll spend the extra $20-$30. Did not feel confident in the security of the property. I also felt a little hesitant in the crowd they seemed to be serving. No coffee in the rooms, and the coffee in the lobby was disgusting. Not very clean or updated. Location was not horrible. I was annoyed that I paid with a credit card and they still required me to pay a $50 "deposit" that was finally credited back to my debit card 5 days later. It's a bed to sleep in. Refrigerator was horribly loud in our room. Would probably not recommend to family and friends.
