8/10 Very good

Heaps of palm trees made the view and the property look beautiful. Close to the water and very nice views. It was quiet, calm and safe. The staff was really nice and welcoming!! The bed was comfortable and we had a lot of space in our accommodation in general. The AC was perfect! We also liked the hammock. The outdoor shower was pretty cool too but unfortunately the water pressure is not that strong. The way from the Main Street to the resort is not sealed and you have to be careful with pot holes. It’s about 3km around 7minutes. Also, we would have loved to use the lounge next to the hammock a little bit more but unfortunately it was a bit dirty. We recommend getting a new cover for this one. Also, we suggest to get new hair dryers since the once provided are not the strongest as well. My partner and I are both from the hospitality industry and we know that these replacements are on the owner!!! and not the staff!!!

4/10 Fair

Very sad to have such a beautiful resort run in a very poor way. Breakfast was said to be continental and being toast bread with margarine and jam, no other ingredients provided. The very first dinner was advertised as “marlin with wedges” and it came out the kitchen in super fast 3 minutes and dished out for us! Oaohhh!!!! But that was the worst ever see food dinner in my life. Definitely wasn’t marlin! And in the end they were trying to charge extra. 8-10$ / person for the dinner plates they thought that we are completely stupid and can’t remember the prices on the menu. Next morning breakfast we have trying to get a simple ham and eggs breakfast. Well that was just as disgusting as the previous nights dinner so we decided not to eat in the resort for any ordered meal anymore. We survived on the breakfast toast with margarine and jam and on the outside of the resort purchased ingredients. Do not except anything to eat and drink in this resort. They management is poorly experienced with their international customers and their needs. The staff is very kind but they are probably just following orders from the stupid money hungry management. The resort has absolutely no concept of costumer satisfaction, programs for their visitors while staying in the resort. This was a good learning trip for 3 of us from Australia. Probably never come back again!

We waited almost 2 hours bc check in time on this platform is 12:30 but in reality it is at 2. They gave us welcoming drink which was lovely. The staff were approachable but seemed too busy and out of touch sometimes. It was a lovely environment.

2/10 Poor

This property is horribly mismanaged and is in a deteriorated state. The deck around the pool is rotted. My sister fell through one of the boards. Management could care less and did nothing to compensate her. A lawsuit will follow. I learned she is not the first person to fall through the pool boards. You can’t get any towels in your room or by the pool, and there are frogs and rodents in the barres/rooms. The dining choices are limited and there is no entertainment. The only bright spot was the service staff - Joey and JJ are exceptional. Everything closes down at 9:00 pm. The beach bar and grill is non-operational and in a dirty, nasty, disgusting state. There are only four (4) pool chairs, most of which are missing slats and have dirty, torn, worn cushions. And, the hot tub is cold. The resort’s website is a misrepresentation of its state and conditions. The rooms are not as depicted. There are no room safes, telephones, or updates. There is no WiFi in the rooms. They do not spray the property and you get eaten by the bugs. I have photos of the horrid conditions. This property seems to be owned by a slumlord. There’s no medical care on site. We couldn’t even get a printed copy of our bill at checkout. We had to stand at the desk and have the staff worker scroll through every charge to verify. Expedia should remove this resort from its offerings.

Crusoe's Retreat is a beautiful resort area on the Southern side of Viti Levu. It's remote for a relaxing getaway but still close enough to the cities for activities (about 2 hours from Nadi and 1.5 from Suva and about 40 mins from Pacific Harbor). The staff are all so lovely and really make you feel welcome. We went in the "off" season (March) so there were not a lot of people at the resort, but the staff still had fun activities planned for the guests. They are also great about assisting with arranging for pickups from the resort for buses for excursions. The food was delicious and the area is just gorgeous. Each night we went down by the water to watch the sunset.

The GM was overbearing and unhappy. The place is nice but nothing else really was. The food was not good. They had 3 things in the menu. And thst too we had to ask several times for the menu. No iron or hair dryer in room. No glass to drink from had to ask and staff were reluctant to give them to us. Only stayed one night. I would not book again for a stay. It needs an overhaul of menu and bar to make it an experience. The owner was great though and did try and fix things

Absolutely awesome resort

This was one of the best experiences I have had with Hotels.com. Absolutely amazing from the moment I got to the property, to the minute I left. The beach was right at the foot of the property, the pool was awesome, the staff remembered my name, and Miki, the front desk hostess even lent me her phone charger. Dinner was great, rooms had amazing views. Absolutely worth the adventure.

6/10 Good

This place punches well above its weight for 3 star accommodation. The rooms and facilities are basic but clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Gorgeous location and views. The only let down was the menu. We ate there the first night and the marlin was caked in burnt overly salty spice mix and basically inedible even after scraping it all off. We ate at other places from that point but decided to give it another go on our last night. My partner’s battered fish was covered in chili oil which wasn’t mention on the menu board, and my chicken burger was an over seasoned chicken mince patty that looked like it was cooked from frozen. Really disappointing. I would stay here again but avoid the restaurant. This would have been a 4 star review if it wasn’t for the food.

4/10 Fair

The location is very pictures but totally unsuitable for guests with disability or walking difficulties. There are too many steps up or down all around the resort. Also the property is 4 km of unsealed very mountainous road to the main road. We were concerned, with lot of rain we might get stuck there.

8/10 Very good

It’s a very quiet and beautiful location. The staff is very friendly and the meals are good; fruit and pastries for breakfast and a nice selection including fish and vegetarian meals for dinner. The place does not feel crowded and is very peaceful. The beach and reef are beautiful. We had a very relaxing time, also due to a very ‘soft’ activities program that included connection to place and nature. Only thing as mentioned by other guests is that the towels in the bathrooms need urgent replacement, and there were no sun screens around the pool, so finding shade is a bit problematic at times.
