To say that this property has seen better days is an understatement. Those days, at best, were last century. The lobby is dark and cluttered, but not too off-putting. That happens as soon as you walk into your room, which was probably last refurbished in the 1980's. My room had a unique feature: A small davit/derrick bolted to the floor in front of the window facing an alley. Used in conjunction with a pulley system it is likely used to get oversized mattresses to the upper floors as the elevators can barely accommodate 2 people, let alone a king-sized mattress. You step up approximately a foot to get into the bathroom, which is gross and grotty and was probably last cleaned about the same time the hotel was refurbished - 1980's. Mold and mildew throughout and dimly lit by a single 40 watt bulb. The tub/shower has no curtain and the tiling around the tub is strategically designed to sluice all the water onto the floor, flooding the bathroom and turning it into a dangerous slippery slide. The room itself had one light directly above the entrance that provided some illumination but the remaining 2 "reading lights" were 40 watt or less and kept shorting out. The A/C was fixed at 22 C., no matter what you MIGHT like to set it too. The location is a busy street without much to support tourists as there are no convenient restaurants or shops. Save yourself the frustration and give this place a pass.
