Three days in Moab

The location was good at the north end of Moab, near restaurants and a short drive to Arches NP. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning. Although the hotel was quiet busy, we easily found seating. Out room was quiet and clean. It was a good size so we could spread out our belongings for three nights. The staff at the front desk were helpful.

Moab stay

Signs in parking area threatening to tow vehicles that did not unhook trailers was not well received. The entire town caters to off-roading and tourists with trailers. Power was out for about 9 hours one evening but was not the fault of the hotel. Water was temporarily shut off for some reason one afternoon. Very problematic.

A bummer the outdoor pool was not open, and the hot tub was not very clean. Otherwise, a nice big room for our family to spread out in after a few days of exploring the area. Friendly staff and a decent hot breakfast with plenty of options.

I checked in on a Thursday afternoon, and the 2 front desk attendants were pretty abysmal in terms of hospitality. I asked a few questions about Arches NP, and their combined response was to look it up online. I realize that they probably get these sort of questions all the time from tourists, but they’re in the hospitality industry - put on a happy face and invest a little time into your guests. The rest of the stay was comfortable and clean. The morning desk attendant was nice enough to allow me to use the fitness center before it opened at 6 am. The fitness center was simple but adequate & convenient. The hot tub was working and appeared to be well-maintained. I also informed the front desk staff that I would require a late check out on Saturday afternoon so that I could shower after a sporting event in Moab before hitting the road. The desk staff happily accommodated this request. Regarding the eco-friendliness, I didn’t see any options for recycling any waste products. I would also recommend that the hotel no longer offer individual bars or body soap and install a body wash container next to the shampoo & conditioner on the wall in the shower.

I was overall pleased with my experience. However, I checked prior to going that the pool would be open. When we arrived the pool was closed and many hotels had their outdoor pools open. I book hotels based on pools for my kids so this was a big disappointment.
