This hotel hates Hotels.com
The reservation desk refused to provide a room for me until 3:30pm, even though between 11a-1pm (where I attempted to check in) they provided rooms to about 20 or more people, including friends of mine. They claimed that my room was "still dirty". Based to the distribution of customers that we provided rooms promptly well before the 4pm official registration opening, I assumed that the overt denial of service was due to a disdain for hotels.com bookings.
The stay in general was fine, as usual. I have used this hotel frequently for business trips in the past. This time, I since I was booking other trips via hotels.com, for the first time a booked this hotel also via hotels.com. Usually, either I or an administrator will book directly.
When I was finally, checked in at 3:30p, the staff seemed embarrassed. Prior, I waited in the lobby as others received rooms. I did not complain, as I did not see the point. There was a obvious protocol that was executed irrespective of me personally, which I can only guess was due to my reservation via hotels.com. I surveyed my friends, and later others that approached me during my stay that observed my ill treatment. I was the only one that booked via hotels.com. These folks will likely be apprehensive concerning making bookings via hotels.com, based on my experience.
In the future, perhaps hotels.com should not provide bookings to hotels that treat such reservations with such obvious disdain. This encourages me to avoid using hotels.com.
