At least it was a good location.
Booked a room with a bathroom and had to change THREE times before my booking was honored; of our three rooms we were in, NONE had a working safe and the safe was not repaired--despite our request. The first room had a torn curtain; the third room had no working doorknob on the bathroom door.

Good Place
It was for a conference. It's 1.5 blocks from the entrance to the conference center or the cruise ship dock. A bit of a walk to the Quarter but a couple decent local bars and food places nearby.

Nice but could have been better
I liked the property but they need to do some maintenance on the hotel. The shower light and 2 other overhead lights in the suite didn’t work. And my room (and several of our friends’ rooms) had difficulty cooling.

Winter get away.
Great location for us. Near the parade route, plenty of restaurants near by, good breakfast, easy walk(<1 mile) to plenty of things like WWII museum, Mardi Gras World, Caesars. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very Pretty and Good Value Hotel
We were really happy with our stay at The Mercantile! Everybody who worked there was always helpful and polite and the chef made sure there was always fresh breakfast food out regularly - never seemed to be empty. And they leave out cups so you can get coffee later on and the bar was nice. Very attractive hotel and our room we felt like was a great value for a 5 person family. We weren't fans of the pillows and mattresses and I wish there was a way to get rid of accumulated trash besides asking for extra garbage bags at the desk and looking for trash cans to put them in (they don't offer housekeeping but empty bottles and takeout boxes pile up fast - maybe offer housekeeping by request or let people put garbage outside their door in the morning as some hotels do or place extra trash bags and larger trash cans in rooms intended for multiple people or longer than weekend stays). Overall I think it was one of the nicer hotels we have ever stayed in - there are less options for families larger than 4 people but this one seemed well kept up and everybody was kind and no issues when we needed extra towels or anything and the location was good, seemed like a quieter area but still close to everything you might want to go to.

Great location - great people!
Stayed at this location for the third time and it was great as usual. The room was spacious with a great view of the bridge and close to all the restaurants and even a parade. Best part was they were able to accommodate me getting into my room a little early. I'll be back!
