If the hotel hadn’t been prepaid, I would have left the moment I walked into the room. There were cracks in the walls, the toilet was loose and not connected to the floor or wall and ran constantly through the night, the refrigerator didn’t work, and there was a pubic hair on the shower wall. The bathroom door looked like it had been chewed on by a rat.
Later, the air conditioner started making loud, disturbing noises, so we asked to be moved to another room. While that room was slightly better, the air conditioning still didn’t work, and the comforter was torn open with stuffing hanging out. My children even asked, “Why are we staying somewhere like this?”—which says everything.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I strongly urge the corporation to conduct a site visit to evaluate the condition of this property.
That said, I want to commend the front desk employee—her name was either Vanessa or Brittany. She went out of her way to help us and did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. Her professionalism and kindness deserve recognition, especially given the circumstances and condition of the hotel.
