This was priced like a Hilton, but it was run down. The pool was empty. There also wasn't any toilet paper in our room. But the worst was the brown streaks on the interior of the door of our bathroom. Not stains. I mean there was encrusted brown matter stuck to the door with hair sticking out of it. (Not sure of if that was related to the lack of toilet paper.) In fairness to housekeeping, the bathrooms are quite small, and the glob of who-knows-what was on the inside of a pocket door, which would rarely, if ever, be closed (and the glob seen) when cleaning a hotel room.
We left as soon as we could and thankfully found some place else to stay which was much nicer at about the same price point. At first, the front desk was argumentative, saying there was no guarantee about the pool and that we took too long (45-60 minutes) to discover the problems with our room to qualify for a refund. I was told we were on the hook for at least one night, and could be moved to another room. I offered $40 in cash to settle and leave without further negotiations, which the hotel accepted. Had they offered to comp my entire stay, I still probably would have left.
