NICE HOTEL

Enjoyed the resort. It was very huge, clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately the concierge that was assign to us never gave us the tore that he promised of the hotel premises. Instead we were brought to a Royalton time share seminar. We spent 5 hours at the seminar. Finally the sales representative accepted, NO for an answer. Also we were promised tshirt, hat, bag and glasses for the kids. We received the bag and the next day we had to come back for the rest. At the end they didnt have the hats promised. I felt like we were tricked into attending the seminar. I should have known when they asked for us to show them our credit card. But when i asked why the concierge never provided an answer. If we wasnt decieved by the concierge, then l would rate the hotel, excellent review.

Our stay was alright. I’ve come to Dominican Republic and stayed at plenty resorts the times I’ve visited. This stay was a little anticlimactic or disappointing. There were little good options in terms of buffet style. Most eating options were restaurants that you had to make reservations for and when we did there wasn’t enough slots available to book. Staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was cool but in terms of options of what to do or eat there wasn’t much.

Paradise location, shame about the food.

Located on a beautiful stretch of Bavaro beach, this location is pure paradise steps from the white sand and crystal clear water. Being able to split your time between pool and beach so easily is a big plus. This resort is non stop entertainment with plenty of daytime activities and nightly music in the main square. There is a quiet pool and the beach is relaxed but this resort is definitely aimed at those looking for a lively experience. Whilst generally the service is good with friendly staff, the language barrier was more tricky than expected with many of the staff struggling with English. We had many orders not understood with wrong dishes served a number of times. We requested to move room on arrival as our room felt like it needed some TLC and was very far from the beach/pool. Even though there is a great shuttle service around the resort it was not practical for us to go back and forth with a baby. But the big disappointment about this resort is the food. With a large selection of restaurants available and not being too fussy, we were fairly relaxed about it. However the food was consistently below par in most of the a la carte restaurants, with only the Indian and Japanese decent. This was a common theme speaking to other guests and it really was not a 5 star experience. The buffet was fairly good and we enjoyed the food trucks at lunch to add variety. We were invited to the platinum buffet for one night and it was a lot nicer so definitely worth considering.

We enjoyed everything about this property. The only negative was that there was not enough tram service from one end of the property to the other. Not a problem for us, but was for the elderly who couldn’t walk that far.
