Gorgeous property
Gorgeous property. Loved staying at this resort. The lush, green natural landscaping with sandy paths and rope-lined wooden trails were a dream. Clean beach with incredible coral reefs and snorkeling right in front of the hotel, and the infinity pool was right on the beach. Perfect for a fun, relaxing family vacation! We stayed in a bungalow and really enjoyed the privacy and deck. Short but steep uphill climb to get to our specific bungalow, which we didn’t mind, but might not be for everyone. We booked our room with breakfast included, definitely worth it! The breakfast buffet had many delicious options. Service could be a bit slow, especially around the pool, but we found that to be the case at pretty much every restaurant on the island. My favorite meal at the resort was at the SeaCat. I ordered the garifuna soup and my husband had the fried fish. Both were delicious! The kids enjoyed angus burgers with fries. Favorite drink was definitely the piña colada.

Unfriendly service. Hotel was over packed. They had a wedding and that took precedence over all other guests. Due to wedding, more than ½ the property was closed to regular guests. We had dirty towels in our room.

Very nice but fell short in places
The location and facility as a whole were wonderful, but we did have some negative experiences...1. Their fire alarm kept going off day and night. It must have happened 15 + times in the 5 days we were there. 2. Even though I had paid upfront through hotels.com they were unable to find my reservation and we ended up not getting the type of room we had booked and weren't able to check in until 4:45 in the afternoon. 3. You aren't supposed to drink the tap water so you have to wander out into the lobby any time you want water. For a high end hotel why don't they deliver a pitcher of water to your room? 4. Booked a fishing trip through the concierge and ended up not getting the captain that we thought we were getting plus the replacement was 25 minutes late. This is a very nice place but for the money it fell short of on some levels.

Terrific!
We loved our stay at the Kimpton Grand Roatan. Stunning location. Excellent staff. A lot of fun programs like a wine and tapas tasting and yoga. Honestly, it was hard to pry ourselves away to see more of the island.

Amazing beach,Amazing employees,Miser supervisors.
Employees were amazing. Attentive and eager to please. Room were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great Dinners were also very good. Supervisors were collectively misers. At check in they tried numerous times to double charge me. I gave the bar tender $20 and asked for ice for 4 beers I had brought down to the beach, he happily started to get the ice when the Bar supervisor stopped him and told me I had to pay 2.50 per beer I drank by the beach because they sold that beer. I refused, gave him a peace of my mind then drank warm beer. His employees tried to reason with him he refused again. I the requested 4 more beer the same ones I was drinking and they told me that they didn’t sell that beer. Well shiver me timbers. Well we enjoyed our time at the Kimpton and 95% of the staff was impeccable. The people that run it are looking for anyway to get $2 off of you while you’re tipping and spending way more than that. I’ve been to many hotels of the same ideology. From Bora Bora to the Ibagari down the way from the kimpton and each other hotel will have a bucket of ice down before you get your beer or wine out. That being said. The beach and the ocean in front of the kimpton are amazing. The snorkeling is second to none. I would go back. I’d just be ready to be aggravated at times but people like August and the rest of the employees will make it worthwhile.

Excellent Hotel Stay
The location of the hotel was ideal for us. The shore is at the end of the beach which makes it quieter than the other side of the beach and less people in the water. The daily resort fee was well worth it! We snorkeled every day and the hotel provided the equipment -- which made it convenient. All the employees were exceptionally nice! We ordered the breakfast with our reservation. It was a delicious buffet with a few items changed out every day for variety. The pool atmosphere is relaxing and upscale compared to other hotels that had a lot of vendors and loud party music. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kimpton Grand Roatan to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The hotel went above and beyond to make the occasion special by surprising us with a complimentary cake and bottle of wine, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The service provided by the staff was truly exceptional. Every interaction, whether with the front desk, concierge, or restaurant teams, showcased their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for their guests. It’s clear they are dedicated to creating a memorable experience for everyone. The hotel itself is stunning, nestled in a breathtakingly beautiful location with a pristine beach and lush surroundings. One of the major advantages of this property is its distance from the cruise ship crowds, allowing for a serene and relaxing atmosphere that feels like a true escape. While the experience was nearly perfect, I did find one minor drawback: the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service to the West End is only available after 6 PM. This limitation can be a bit inconvenient for those who want to explore the vibrant area during the day (and not use the water taxi). Expanding shuttle service hours would certainly enhance the overall experience. Despite this small critique, my stay at the Kimpton Grand Roatan was amazing. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxurious and tranquil getaway.

The staff were absolutely beyond top notch (especially Leandro Vega, Teddie Thomas, Dinia & our server at The Drop Off). We adopted a stray dog and the hotel went above and beyond to ensure she got to be with us all times, brought her a bowl of water as soon as they saw us. The property was very well laid out, and very easy to navigate. The number of daily activities available were beyond impressive. The bed, pillows, and linens were heavenly. Definitely one of the top resort experiences we’ve experienced and beyond memorable.

Deposit refund
Stay was very good. Beautiful beach you can swim and snorkel. I am worry due I was charged usd 1000 for deposit at check in. But when check out peiple at front desk did not refund inmediatedly. They say they will write when refund is done. I wrote an email and have not receive answer. It is important to refund deposit. They charge your card with your consume additional to the deposit.
