Great hotel

We had a most enjoyable experience. How we experience the benefits of being in a new hotel. I was very impressed with the hotel design. And everything seems to flow smoothly with the architecture. The beach was long and wide, and this was a great advantage given the fact that the hotel was quite full.

Amazing hotel and great time. Had a swim-up room in hopes of using at night but the water was pretty cold. During the day it was perfect tho. Staff and servers very friendly and accommodating. Entertainment was great! Buffet food is better than the specialty restaurants. Definitely will be returning.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Drinks, bartenders, servers and buffet were good. Out of the restaurants only one worthwhile is the steakhouse. Kyoto-bad service and food was subpar. Took them 40 minutes to bring us our ice cream. Next time would just do buffet and steakhouse. Entertainment was great-Jamaican show and Michael Jackson were amazing. Riu party was a waste of time(travel time close to 2 hours) and rarely any reggae music. Beautiful rooms and views.

Overall our stay was alright--we mentioned before we arrived that it was our anniversary on the 20th--they said they would make note--I mentioned it when we arrived--they said they would make note--nothing special was done on the 20th like they said they would do-that was disappointing--our room had an ocean view but the balcony had a white cement wall blocking the view that our kids could not even see over--thousands of other rooms had glass walls to enjoy the ocean view--this was disappointing--and our king size bedroom was in the room with no windows are view whatsoever and we were the ones paying for the room--our kids got the room with the balcony--this was disappointing. WE found certain staff around the resort to be short, cold, and rude whereas many others were very sweet and accommodating. For the price we paid--the experience did not match.
