8/10 Very good

My stay had few hiccups, like a planned power outage Sunday am (they made me aware, and also had a hot breakfast alternative available) and also I had no hot water in my room. On the othet hand the very very helpful girl Sakina, went above and beyond to find an alternate solution. She was more than accommodating with solutions which were very acceptable... Stuff happens and she handled things very professionally with a favourable outcome

Spa? Castle? Inn? A Must stay either way!
We received very clear e-mail directions and details for self check-in. The castle-like inn sits on a hill above the town. It's secluded and quiet. When we arrived, a staff member was still on site. She was very pleasant and gave us a quick tour before leaving. Our room was large, beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. We enjoyed the facilities: we strolled the grounds and gardens, used the pool, hot tub and steam room, and meandered the halls of the inn. The experience here is very spa like and with onlly a few rooms, very private. We saw one guest during the afternoon/evening of our check-in. We saw several others in the morning. The included breakfast was a full service, chef prepared meal. And, it was delicious! We will definitely stay here again, but for a longer time. One night is not enough.

The Hidden Treasure
What a magical place!!! The grounds and building are just beautiful! Staff persons were friendly and attentive. The lady who checked us in gave us a tour, offered to help with luggage and made our dinner reservations. Nice pool area, hot tub in the garden, walking paths and beautiful gardens. There are treasures from around the world scattered about. We were in awe. The FOOD was beyond delicious for both dinner and breakfast. This was a 10-star stay. The only negative we could find was our third floor room was HOT. We had A/C on full blast and still hot hot. Opened a window finally. That would not keep us from recommending this incredible find to anyone/everyone. We are so glad we tried somewhere new and found this gem!!!

Okay place
Nice hotel for a romantic getaway (we were there for a ball tournament so not as compatible). Front entrance smells very musty and you never see any staff around! No screen in the windows. Towels and garbage not changed during our 2 night stay. Pool is very cold.

This has been one of the best experiences that I have had at any hotel. The staff was outstanding, the facilities and amenities were outstanding and the breakfast was beyond top notch. I have ZERO complaints about this stay and I will always check here first when I am looking in the area. Excellent experience all around.

A gem in hiding! Welcoming property and staff. Easy check in and friendly tour of the amenities. Clean pool, hot tub. Amazing food (beats any restaurant in Ottawa) for dinner and jaw dropping breakfast! And all this with an amazing cause to help youth! Don’t just drive by, check it out, you won’t regret! Promise.

I do not typically write reviews, good or bad, but after this experience I had to say something. This inn is beautiful and inspiring. A particular shout out to Ann and Thomas (the gardener). The gardens here are amazing and incorporate a sustainable and time true indigenous component that is remarkable. Thomas was kind enough to walk me through his gardens and share with me his insights and wisdom. I will absolutely visit this place again (perhaps several more times :))

The restaurant is only open on the weekends The bar is only open on the weekends. Those two items are conveniently omitted from the Travelocity description The staff was only present during breakfast. The steps up to your room are treacherous so be aware if you have large or bulky luggage. The town is beautiful but on a Monday we had to drive 50 miles round trip to get an open restaurant . No ice. Coffee maker in room broken. No counter space whatsoever in bathroom. Zero. Our stuff was on edge of tub and floor. Not nearly enough outlets. The Inn is beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic. The grounds are lovely. The inn keeper did text suggestions on where to find food. I just find fault with misleading expectations of what is available. The price is right. I’d still recommend just go in knowing on certain days you’ll be foraging for a nice sit down meal or adult beverages.

I would have given it a 5 but since we had to go up 3 flights of stairs. I had originally requested a room on the main floor. They were unable to have a room on the main floor as the guest changed his stay to 5 days. The staff was great they actually helped with the luggage. The restaurant food was delicious and well presented. Otherwise I would highly recommend this hotel.
