Property is good, with quiet terrace in the back. Proximity to everything is amazing. Room was quite nice, and generally clean. Unfortunately, cleanliness of the bathrooms is lot to be desired for. Also, it was difficult to get hold of the managing person, either to leave a message or ask something. They also put my luggage out of my room in the hallway as the checkout time passed. Someone I know shared that they assigned their room to another person and allowed entry in their room. Big security and privacy issue.

It was not clear that there would be no one to help with check-in. We were under the impression there would be someone on site until 4:00 pm but when we arrived at 3:30 pm there was no one. Another couple came and rang the bell. It was not clear that there was a bell to ring. When we got inside it was necessary to call for help with checking in. Fortunately I had a cell phone that had a plan for Europe but it is not generally expected that this is necessary to check in—especially since I had checked in on line. The first E-mail I received for the electronic keys was from our stay at the hotel in Nov 2022 and it was fortunate that we were still talking by phone because the second E-mail worked. After that everything worked smoothly and it was a great place to stay. Would definitely come back because irbid a lovely hotel in a great location but check in needs to be a smoother process.

The Botique Hotel Sint Jacob is a restored/remodeled old hotel, but some its charm is damped by its age. I was on the top floor with a slanted roofline that at first bothered me, but it was actually charming and provided great ventilation. The bathroom had a stink that the property manager was not aware of, but was going to address after I left. Without a receptionist they relied on a partner hotel and technology (door opening via cell phone). Not bad, but less convenient. Very pleasant outdoor patio area.

Lovely hotel, rubbish booking site.
I love this hotel and it's my favourite choice for maastricht.unfortunately hotels.com stuffed up my booking and booked Jan instead of July so I never got to go. They refused to acknowledge any fault so I lost not only my money, but the chance to stay there, as they were full by the time I realised what had happened. So. Five stars for the sint Jacob and nul points for the thieving lot at hotels.com.

Good location, around the corner from the Cathedral Square, and about a 20 minute walk to the train station. There is no reception desk, and a staff person is only there limited daytime. So if arriving late, better let them know!. My room was a good size, very big, nice bathroom, right next to the front street entrance door. I was a bit concerned about potential security issues, as the entrance door is open during the day, but had none. The room was a bit cold at night- seemed to reduce the centrally-controlled heating at night. Good assortment of herbal teas in the room. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel- thought it a bit expensive.

A pleasant hotel in a very convenient location for the main squares and shopping in Maastricht. The room was a good size and bottled water supplied. The beds were very comfortable but the pillows were the Dutch roly-poly kind and I found them uncomfortable. We stayed in room 25 in the attic and there were several rain showers during the night. The rain was quite noisy on the roof. The hotel was quiet but we could hear the weather! Breakfast was tasty and fresh, we had everything we needed. But the ‘Boutique’ title promised a luxury which was not evident in my opinion.

Friendly staff, great location and the room was clean. Unfortunately the room type is very misleading. I requested a deluxe double room with a double bed and a city view but we were given two small single beds and a room with a window that showed the other side of the street. We would have expected that if a double bed wasn't available that this was not shown as an option when booking. We asked if other rooms were available but unfortunately were told it was fully booked. I requested a partial refund since the room type when booking was misleading but this was not given. There was also no hot water on the first evening, although this was rectified, and no soap in the bathroom for washing hands, when we mentioned this it was suggested to go to the cleaning cupboard and get some, which was fine but felt more like staying in an apartment than a hotel.

We were not told that arriving after 4pm we would have to walk to it’s sister hotel a block away to check in. Not what we wanted after 7 hours on a motorbike. The hotel is staffed at breakfast time who will cook you fresh eggs and bacon as well as the usual continental breakfast and they are there for you to check out after breakfast. After that and after the rooms have been cleaned there is no staff. You have access with a door card for the front door and your room & you can come and go as you please. Lovely courtyard to sit it but it would be nice if there was tea & coffee available downstairs to enjoy while sat there but you only have sachets if coffee & teabags in the rooms after breakfast has been cleared away. The hotel is well stiuated for sightseeing in Maastricht

Location was fine but overall only 3 star
No air conditioning in room. Unable to open windows. No extractor fan in bathroom and shower towels too small. Shower gel was a shampoo. Hand washing gel ran out and wasn’t topped up daily. On the Monday our bedroom door was opened prior to us getting up. The breakfast was only fair the day we had it.

Loved the room and the bathroom, very well done albeit short on headroom. No A/C so very hot at night - didn't get much sleep as a consequence. Also our room was on the third floor, no lift so good job we didn't have a heavy suitcase! On arrival we were told that there would be no staff after 4pm, if we needed anything we could ring an associated Hotel nearby. Biggest concern of all was that the only Escape route was down the central staircase with all rooms directly off of it - Doors had no smoke seals, visible gaps and did not appear to be Fire Rated. Should a fire start on the ground or other floors then ones chances of survival would be slim at best. Lastly, and this is not a criticism of the Hotel, it applies to the area generally - the cost of car parking nearby was high, some €35 per day which should be taken into account when booking an Hotel.

Not using this hotel again.
It started off badly when we arrived after 4pm and had to go to another location to check in. The hotel is centrally located which it perfect. The room was comfortable enough for 3 nights, although the bed was too soft and the pillows were of poor quality. The TV remote didn't work on the TV. The room was advertised to have shower/tub combination. There was no tub, which was very dissaponting. On a whole I was satisfied with the hotel location for carnaval but I would not use it again.
