Beautiful BnB in the heart of Madison. Within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, museums, and the capitol itself. Calm beautiful oasis. Access to Lake Mendota.
Beautiful oasis, away from the hustle of downtown Madison. Peggy, the innkeeper, makes amazing breakfasts each morning and it is truly a gem in the Madison area. Very quiet but very well maintained. Would definitely go again!
Loved everything about our stay - welcoming, beautiful, comfortable - amazing hostess and the best breakfast. Would recommend for everyone seeking lovely comfort and a friendly, loving respite
The Livingston Inn was fantastic. The Inn is in remarkable shape for being 160 years old, they did a wonderful job in fixing it up. The room was big and comfortable. Peggy is a great cook, at least for breakfast, her Swedish pancakes are better than the restaurants. When people comment about the conversations they have at breakfast they are not kidding! Peggy knows so much about that part of Wisconsin and made a couple of suggestions that were right on the money. We had a fantastic long weekend and will be back at the Livingston Inn the next time we go to Madison.
We had a wonderful time during our stay at this bed and breakfast. Peggy was very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, and the other guests were fun and interesting.
Why husband and I chose the Livingston Inn for its proximity to the university and to the lake. The B&B is a charming Victorian inn, beautifully decorated and surrounded by lovely gardens. We were greeted by the owner, Peggy, who was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Our room was spacious and lovely, and had its own fireplace. Wine and beer were available when we checked in, and the full breakfast the next morning was delicious and substantial. The inn itself was very comfortable, and contained various rooms in which to relax or read. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Madison, and would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet and romantic get away.
This place was very clean, beautifully decorated and true to its historic past. The attention to detail and remodeling was amazing! Our bathroom was modern and even included jets in the shower. The beach is just a short walk through an attached, glass conservatory and down a flower-lined path. Glorious sunset! Breakfast was delicious and our hostess was friendly and helpful with ideas about sight-seeing. We will go back for sure!
A stay at the Livingston Inn was a real treat. The owners Peggy & Dave are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed our time speaking with them on the back patio....thanks for the numerous restaurant recommendations (wish we could have tried them all). They have a wonderful B&B, full of history and interesting details. The house has beautiful gardens that also lead down to access path to the lake front where you can sit and enjoy the sunset with a complimentary glass of wine. Our room, the Willow, had a private bath, comfortable Queen bed, wonderful decor, and a fireplace (not sure if it was really or decorative as we did not use it). A home cooked breakfast served in the ding room was a delicious start to our day. We would love to return to the Livingston Inn one day.
Peggy was an outstanding host. She was generous with her time, helping me to figure out logistics for the nearby wedding I was attending, and went out of her way to show small gestures of hospitality. I had a great time eating her delicious breakfast and playing with her adorable dog; the house itself is delightfully charming, and the lakefront property unparalleled. I can't wait to come back!
Lovely B&B in a central location within walking distance to capitol and campus. Owners are lovely people and enjoy being innkeepers. House is historic but had wonderful shower. Breakfast was terrific.
