Maybe you're like me? Fly by the seat of your pants? Thats me and Greece... came here absolutely last minute. No reservations set for anywhere to stay. Thats my fault. And while a hostels are available nearby, I wanted privacy the first night.
The Lydia was alright. I'm grateful because they took me in my first night here. Here are the positives:
1. The front desk is open 24/7.
2. They do provide some room service.
3. Elevator.
4. It has AC but I have no idea if it works. I didnt use it.
Negatives:
1. I didnt know they offered room service until I was checking out...I saw the paper on the bedside when I collecting my things. No mention was made when I checked in.
2. Built-in wall chargers. The outlet stopped working. Idk why. It initially worked fine but then it stopped.
3. Flat screen TV was small. Like 14"-22".
4. The bed. *heavy sigh* ...soft... I cant tell if its old & sagging or if the proprietor bought it soft. No blankets. Fitted sheets on the bed & one extra sheet. This is why I didnt need the AC (lol).
5. The electrical system. If you're reading this, I dont know where your home country is...mine is the U.S.A. Never been out of the country. So imagine my surprise when I thought that management was being thoughful by placing a key holder by the door. Its not. That plastic card has to be inserted to get the lights on. LMAO lesson learned.
6. Where do I start with my favorite part of the room? Blue lights for the....tasteful and discerning client's đđŹ
The room was fine, spacious and bed was comfortable. The only problem was that WiFi didn't work in my room and this was majorly inconvenient for me because I had to work and wanted to do so in the hotel rather than having to go out. I would have extended my stay if the WiFi was working. I please recommend to hotel staff to have WiFi working in all of your rooms because plenty of people are dependent on it and if you advertise with free WiFi, it should be available in the room.
The property had great access to the metro which was very convenient for travelling into the main city centre. The room was clean, but very basic. The staff were very friendly and check-in / check-out was quick and easy. The electricity in the room was very peculiar because the plug sockets to charge your phones didnât work if the lights were turned off so it was difficult to charge anything overnight whilst we slept - we had to wait until everything was fully charged before turning the lights off and going to sleep. Would recommend this place if youâre looking for somewhere inexpensive to stay and not planning to linger in the local area. Itâs only 2/3 stops on the metro to get into the city centre, so ideal if you wanted a cheap stay with easy access to the centre.
The location feels very unsafe especially when darker.
Hotel also felt extremely unsafe and bathrooms facilities felt unclean and limited. Lack of soap. Very noisy because it's right next to a very busy street. Cannot use outlets without the lights on so can't charge phones overnight.
There's no extra lock from the inside for security so anyone with key can easily get in.
Staff will make you pay cash because they don't want to pay credit card fees and force you to go to the ATM outside to get cash.
Wouldn't stay there if you aren't okay with slumming it. Way to pricey for what it is.
I choose the hotel based on the reviews and now I am still wondering who could give 8/9 or 10 to this place! Disgusting from the area it is located to the every inch of the room. The cigarette smell was terrible to the point that I couldnât sleep the whole night due to being nauseated from the smell. Iâm not a difficult person and I try to accommodate anywhere but this hotel was the worse experience . Area??? Oh my God - we were âluckyâ to be in Athens when was the strike and to walk around was the worse idea- everything stinks of urine , vomiting - being summer you can imagine yourself how hard was to walk around. Lots of homeless people in the area so walking during night didnât feel safe. The room was outdated . Definitely not a choice to be made !
Room was clean and spacious, with daily housekeeping, however there was a smell of cigarette smoke in the room and throughout the hotel. The only other negative was that there were very few working power points and these were located in awkward spots in the room. Other than that staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Hotel is in a good location, within easy access to two of the metro lines.
The hotel has an excellent location, close to the metro station. Most of the services are available next to it, such as cafes and markets. Reception and the way of dealing was excellent, but attention should be paid to cleanliness more than that.
the stay was fine until the check out day, i checked out the room and left my luggage in the hotel to take them while going to the airport, when I came to take my luggage my bag was not there I asked them they said that someone took it with them i spent my last hours in the country searching for the girl that took my bag and after 3 to 4 hours they sent me the bag opened and missing the half of my stuff i couldn't stay more or less i will miss my flight so i went back home without my stuff. i travel minimum once a year and i have visited lot of hotels from stars 2 to 7. this is the first time i face such thing. For me it is ok to have mistakes but losing the bag was a very unprofessional issue from the management of the hotel and i am asking for compensation
Nah am Bahnhof mit ZĂŒgen nach Airport und Hafen, auch 2 Metrolinien in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Guter Preis fĂŒr 2 NĂ€chte. Sonst schlicht und triste Umgebung.
