So-so Hotel
The staff was friendly and pleasant. There were croissants, muffins, fruit, coffee, and tea available for breakfast. But this hotel doesn’t deserve a rating above 8.0 in my opinion. More like a 7.0. This is an old motel with little modernization. The street traffic was loud. The bed was very hard. Cleanliness was so-so. There are better choices in the Burlington/Colchester area.

Facts to be aware of.
We chose this hotel because it was the only one available. Unfortunately the rates were inflated due to it being a weekend. To our chagrin, there was no elevator, so we took bags up steep wooden stairs. We were not given any information about where ice was etc. we went down to front desk because we couldn’t find a way to turn on the AC. Girl at desk told us there was a “portable” thing with a button. We figured out there was actually a thermostat on the wall. AC worked great, hotel is of age, but beds were comfortable and it was pretty clean. Pleasant surprise upon leaving, there were fresh muffins, croissants and bananas for guests to take, along with coffee, tea, oranges.

Clean & safe place to stay. Beds & linens were good. Overall the place needs a serious update. Felt a little duped by the photos.

We had very limited interaction with management. But the concierge (if that’s a reasonable title) was lovely when we did speak to him. For all intents and purposes this is a motel. (Calling it an inn” alludes to more luxury or coziness than you will find here). We went during parents’ weekend at UVM so it was way too expensive for what it provides. But at least we had a place to sleep. But thats all there is. A place to sleep. There are no real facilities or amenities. The parking lot hardscaping and landscaping are not well kept, with difficult driving clearances. The bed was too stiff, but tolerable for a night. The hot water can’t keep up with demand in the morning. So I had a very cold shower at around 9:30 am. The toilets flush well…perhaps too well! You should probably keep children away from them, for fear they might get sucked down the drain. But seriously, they’re just too loud to flush when other people are sleeping. The WiFi was unusable but my cell service was all I needed. The rooms are kind of dark and old. Some recent renovations included new pre-fab shower walls and receptors. But the choice of a peachy-tan color was not helpful. A few simple suggestions to make this place much nicer: 1) get new, white bed spreads. Nobody trusts dark colored or floral prints at a hotel. 2) fix the hot water 3) remove the median in the parking area 4) most importantly: only renovate with the help of a design professional.

The property itself is a bit rundown and the carpets need replacing, but it has a good mattress and all the basics are adequate. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Nice receptionist who was very accommodating when I asked for a room with a view. Was more surprised than concerned about the open stairwell to the back dumpster. Seemed a bit eerie. I was expecting the stairwell to be inside the building and not open to the outside. We did have to wait to get the room after I booked online. Good internet and TV. I wasn’t a fan of the toilet flusher and no cover to the bowl. The walk in shower was nice and everything seemed clean, but I didn’t love the black bed spreads. Heard about possible danishes in the morning, but I must have misused them because I slept in. I was excited to grab a banana though. Thank you! I’m not a coffee drinker, but I’m sure there was tea too, just didn’t have time to look. Thank you. I think I would definitely stay there again.

Pretty clean room. Room is pretty dated, bed was comfortable. A/C was a little noisy. For the money it was worth it.

2/10 Poor

This property is extremely outdated. There were a dozen stains on the carpets. Both mattresses were caved in, the WiFi did not work and the girl at the front desk was very unpleasant. Save your money.
