This place is pretty run down and old. The floating 5 gallon bucket of chlorine in the pool really gave it a nice touch. They clearly rely on those that get fooled into staying here with pretty pictures to charge what they charge per night.

I recently stayed at Hotel Da Vinci in San Francisco and had a great experience. The hotel is now under new management, and it shows—the staff was very friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. The location is excellent, within walking distance to Lombard Street and Fisherman’s Wharf, and just steps away from a bus stop that makes it easy to get anywhere else in the city. There are also a few good restaurants and cafés nearby, which is convenient. The hotel itself is clean and safe, with a pool available for guests. While there’s no breakfast offered and I didn’t notice a fitness center, it covers all the essentials for a comfortable short stay. Overall, Hotel Da Vinci is a solid choice if you’re looking for a safe, clean, and well-located spot to base yourself while exploring San Francisco.

Why is this place still on hotels.com

I have no clue why this is still on the hotels list. It’s super trashy. It’s hard to find because you’re in shock at the appearance and no signs. It’s dirty from the outside in. It has 4 stories and no elevators work. Everything is rusted and super trashy. It’s motel style. It’s so gross.

The Jamaican housekeeper was amazing at her job - absolutely spotless and fresh linen every 2 days. We found other guests were noisy very early in the morning as all rooms accessed via open air walkways. Pool not open - so Expedia should not show it! Very disappointed as I had chosen the hotel as I swim daily. Bedside light didn't work and only on one side. No bedside table or light on other side of bed - strange. Staff quick to find extra lighting, but no table appeared.

Dirty and poorly maintained.

This place is very poorly maintained -- A very dirty lobby and entrance, with hand written signs on corrugated, dirty rugs, etc. To have paid $500 a night to stay in what felt more like a hostel than a hotel is really disappointing. My room had no lamp or waste basket and front desk laughed when I asked. My room's only light was a super bright overhead flourescent, like prison. Hotels.com needs to do better checking before listing.

Bed was very comfortable, room rug seemed dirty and old-we kept our socks on so our feet wouldn’t get dirty! They have blinds up in the window-however, no curtains!!! And facing the street/all the street lights shined in!!! The room was very bright even in the middle of the night-difficult to sleep. A set of curtains would easily remedy that issue. The bathroom is very small and tight! The water in the shower starts off comfortable but then turned extremely hot and easily could burn somebody! Once it happened the first time-we were prepared for our next few showers. Nice big tv and comfortable. Good location to walk or catch the muni bus. Overall-relatively inexpensive compared to others in the area and does the job!

In the area for a concert at Golden Gate Park , staff is amazing, rooms and beds are comfortable, nice pool and patio , game room with pool table and foosball table ( that room was out dated but it was still fun) There IS an elevator to access each floor, front desks offers ice, cold drinks and a few snacks at an amazing price. Within walking distance to coffee, shops, restaurants, and corner market stores for snacks and drinks - Quick access to Lime and Lyft scooters and bikes, bus line and ride share right in front of hotel We would stay again
