I loved that it was steps to the beach! And then out the front door you were in the middle of Tamarindo Beach with everything in walking distance. Sunset time was special , really good people and dog watching as people strolled along the beach, with nice live music from the restaurant as everybody waited for the “ green flash” Both my two sunsets were spectacular! Shout out to Ronaldo and Carla at the front desk. They were awesome!! Carla-stay away from the food truck! 😂😂 My room was very clean, with a little kitchenette , stove and fridge! The water pressure was excellent, and there’s also an outdoor shower! Definitely get a massage on the beach, my Masseuse had magic hands! It was so nice with breeze, and the rain and the ocean waves! And affordable! I loved my three nights here and will definitely come back!

Beautiful week at the beach
Great stay at the beach. The entryway at La Palapa is a bit rustic, adding to the overall charm of the place. Walking a few short feet from our room, we were on the sand of Tamarindo beach. The room was cleaned each day at a time convenient for our schedule. Iconic, spectacular fire baton show every night on the beach. La Palapa is located among rows of shops, restaurants, cafe's, and bars. The hosts are all friendly and helpful. They speak English and were patient with us practicing our Spanish. And they scheduled transportation to and from the Liberia airport. We look forward to a return trip next year.

6/10 Good

Property is conveniently located in the heart of where you want to be. Beautiful beach front location. Staff and everyone is super friendly. What I didn’t like is you can tell not a lot of money goes back into the hotel. it’s old, dated, and needs a refresh. My biggest disappointment is this town (Tamerindo) in general over prices absolutely everything. Expedia does not let me post what I paid for food, drinks, restaurants, etc. Trust me when I say you come wanting to buy a Toyota, but they charge you for a Ferrari. By the time you factor in the cost of the flight, hotel, etc, stay in the USA…… yes, it’s cheaper at home. There is no value to travel that far to get ripped off by people just because you have American USD. I’m sure at one time Tamerindo was charming. And part of it is. But I left feeling like everyone wanted to just charge Americans as much as they could. So, be warned. Also - do not expect to enjoy your vacation in peace. people everywhere bugging you to buy over priced junk. this happens in a lot of places I’ve traveled, but here it’s an added annoyance knowing you feel surrounded by people who rip you off with a smile.

I recommend this property as it fulfilled ally expectations. The staffers demostrated superior client service skills (Karla, Rolando, and Audrey), the rooms were inmaculately clean, and the location of the hotel is perfect.

I would to say to Rolando - MUY GRACIAS. Ladies, I tend to travel solo and you can travel safely and move about @ Tamarindo . The food at the restaurant is fantastic ! Many complain about the cost but I live in the New England area and my meal would cost double . Shout out to its Chef and please visit Walter’s - next door and NOI . I enjoyed every bit - I stayed for four nights- It rains but you still can’t beat the view. I hope to post photos . Haste Luego Rolando 😘

Amazing
I’m hesitant to give a 5 star review as I’d like to keep this little gem all to myself:) our unit was steps from the sand and onsite restaurant. Rolando was helpful, and he checked on us multiple times during our stay. You could not ask for a better location. Truly wonderful experience.

This is the quaintest little beachfront property! There are different size rooms, so make sure and get the size that’s best for you and your family. It’s in the heart of the little shopping district and right on the beach. They have their own restaurant and restaurants all around for dining pleasure. I probably wouldn’t stay more than two or three nights at this place as it is very small, but it is perfect if you want a beachfront bungalow. There is secure parking as well. Carla is the kindest front desk clerk and will help with anything!

Dream hotel
We had the room. We could see and hear the ocean from our room, which was peaceful and beautiful. The hotel didn't have a pool but the ocean was 20 steps away. The staff were genuinely friendly and always willing to help. The AC worked very well. The bathroom was tiny but functional. It was definitely my favorite hotel during my trip.

This is the best little property on the beach for a one to three night stay! The staff is super helpful and the parking is secure. You were literally right in the middle of all of the shopping, dining and nightlife, not to mention a fabulous beach!

Small hotel with only 7 rooms and just steps away from the beach. Loved the location, close to restaurants and other shops. Great staff, especially Rolando, very nice person. The only issue was the toilet, the whole bathroom system needs to be updated… but we will definitely go back!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel La Palapa! The accommodations were clean and comfortable and safe. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were all amazing — so warm, friendly, and helpful! The proximity to the beach was incredible, as well as having so many shops within close walking distance (including grocery stores, drug stores, souvenir shops, and lots of great restaurants). The area was all very clean, and I always felt safe, even as a solo female traveler. will definitely stay here again!!
