This is always been my favorite place to go to and I stumbled upon it a couple years ago and whenever I have a special occasion, I love to come here and just enjoy the ambience and the good food and service and hearing the church bells across the street from the Methodist Church . It has always been something very special to me and I chose this location to celebrate my birthday this past weekend with my family. Unfortunately, it was quite a different experience. Perhaps management has changed or there’s been turnover with staff, but at check-in I was even questioned as to why I would want to change my credit card that I wanted to use for my reservation and room charges. Why would the receptionist ask me that? It just seemed odd and I didn’t feel comfortable having to explain to her which card I wanted to use (very awkward moment.)
When we entered the suite we found that there were stains on both couches
And there was a very strong soap odor in the living room area. I don’t recall the rooms ever smelling like that in the past. On Hotels.com they advertise the suite to sleep 3 but there is no pull out couch . So I had to call down and no one would answer the phone so I had to go downstairs and request had the right room and they provided us a very uncomfortable cot. Later that evening we went down to the landmark for dessert and coffee and tried the bread, pudding, the crème brûlée and the strawberry cheesecake. However, the strawberry cheesecake had raspberries and blueberries
