Great location, kind staff but wow... SMOKY!

Hotel is fine, the staff is kind, but the halls just smell like marijuana. It's supposed to be non smoking, but wow... smelled horrible. I stayed here about a year ago and didn't have the same experience, meaning the air was actually clean and fresh. I might opt for it again, but would probably try somewhere else.

Just ok stay

The stay was ok. The location is good. The room on the 14th floor was quiet. They do not equip the room with even basic things like cotton buds. The mirror in my room was not clean. Coffee k cups were not replenished the next day. Overall I don’t think it’s worth the money.

Had a really good night there.

Check-in was smooth. Mz Cookie at the front desk gets special mention for making us feel very welcome. The room was small but neat. It was very clean, and very quiet. The location was very convenient for our destinations in Old Town and Near North Side. Also, my wife the coffee snob says the latte from the bar in the lobby was really good.

Felt like unwelcome guests

Hotel has a nice lobby and bar area. Free wine hour for guests at 5pm. Check in was friendly. Room was clean, beds comfortable. Noisy but that's expected in a city. TV kept losing signal, refrigerator didn't stay cool so in the morning the food we had brought was warm. Check out is 12 noon, which is normally great and since we had been out very late the sleep would've been appreciated. However housekeeping knocked at 9am even with our sign on the door. Then knocked again (sign still there) at 10:30am. Frustrating as check out was NOON. We mentioned this at the front desk on our way out and they didn't seem to care. It felt like we were not welcome guests and it wouldn't be a place I would seek out to visit again next time we had to Chicago.
