Fantastic piece of working history
We only stayed one night, but the Strater will always be remembered. What a fantastic piece of working history. Every inch of this hotel is impressive. The staff are lovely and seem to love the hotel and their jobs. I was amazed at the quantity of staff who take care of this gem. We will be back. We had recently stayed at the El Tovar, which was terrific, but we put the Strater beside it. I think the Strater is better maintained with nicer amenities.

Unique and fun!
Loved this place, especially the room cards detailing the history of the room and the area. Lots of vintage items from the period as well. The only complaint I had was that the live entertainment wasn’t as described.

So So Stay....
It was ok. Room and hotel nice. Front desk staff was argumentative on checking in. My Son and I were baffled. I've stayed here each of the last 4 times I've come to town. Likely try something different next trip. The horn from the train at 5 am wasn't so great...

Good stay
It was fun staying in the historic building. The furniture was antique and kind of cool, and the wallpaper and high ceilings in the room were very nice. It was quieter than we expected. I am not sure if that was because not all rooms around us were filled, because I would expect that with the older building, you would normally hear your neighbor or creaking of floors. Overall it was a good stay and was fun and different.
