Uncomfortable experience during check in.
The overall stay at this hotel was good. However, the man at the front desk during check in was rude. We have service dog and only stay in hotels that are dog friendly. This hotel said dog friendly so we booked our stay while our kids were at a winter camp in the area. During check in we asked if our dog was welcome as she’s a service dog and he said yes. He think asked if she’s emotional support or medical and we said medical and he seemed hesitant. We don’t know the laws in Oregon so we asked if he’d need to see proof and he said he isn’t allowed to ask for proof and said do you have it with you. We said no, assuming he was talking about the paperwork for our dog. We then came in with our dog and he starting accusing my boyfriend of sneaking a dog in and that he can charge a $250 fine for that and saying he lied about having the dog when he asked. We assumed he asked if we had the paperwork with us, not the dog as he said, “so you have it with you?” when talking about verification. He could’ve asked if we had the DOG with us. And why would we be sneaking a dog in as we’re walking through the lobby? She’s a full grown German shepherd. There’s no sneaking her in through a lobby. The only other complaint is the breakfast was oatmeal, cereal, and waffles. Not very good breakfast but it wasn’t that big of a deal. The lady running the breakfast room was really friendly and sweet. Everything was clean in the room and comfortable.
