Cute cabin type rooms with private bathroom. Small but was just 2 of us. Enjoyed our stay. Great location, central to many hikes on our agenda.

Adequate, though primitive- walls are very thin. Low water pressure. Dining hall was out of their “Signature BlackBerry pie all 5 nights I was there! :(

Avoid it! It is a pity that being located in a wonderful location the logging is so disapointing:
- not clean, I found underwater from previous guest in my room!
- it takes over an hour to get a table at the restaurant and when you are finally seated, they treat you so badly. Waiters are understaffed and that makes the personnel too stressed and too mean.
We’ll never come back,

We we had two rooms at this wonderful lodge in Shenandoah Park. We had drinks and dinner at the lodge as well. Both rooms are all very nice. Think there were some bathroom issue with both of them but nothing major. I would definitely stay here again.

Driving the Skyline Road is most enjoyable. The Big Meadow Lodge affords the extra pleasure of a break, good food and a surprisingly comfortable cabin inside the Shenandoah park.

Property is a gorgeous setting inside the national park. Rooms are dated but quaint. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was ok, could use an upgrade. Overall nice place with a nice dining room where our meal was good.

Newcomers should know that the Lodges in the Shenandoah National Park are rustic. The rooms are clean and wood-paneled from floor to ceiling. However, they are also small and old and are not 5-star hotel rooms. That is to say, they have no clocks, refrigerators or microwaves or carpets nor airconditioning (but they do have heat). You are also billed for water use, so don't take long showers. The food is generally good but ask the waitress for her recommendations before you order. There is almost always a wait for lunch or dinner. These lodges are really a place for people to stay who love to be outdoors as much as possible. You must drive carefully at all times, the curves are many and you don't want to risk going over the edges of the drive.

We stayed one night. The room was impeccably clean with high quality linens and towels. Good amenities including larger mini-fridge and coffee maker. Good TV and lots of storage. Ceiling fan. My only complaint is that it was musty which is understandable given both the age of the building and the climate in this area. Airing the room out didn't help.

A traditional room in a row of log cabins. Very basic and rustic. There are two beds in quite a small room. Not a huge amount of space but adequate for the one night we were there.
Basically bathroom but again adequate for what you need. It was all clean and there was a coffee maker.
The walls are thin and as my husband was still recovering from a cold we felt inclined the let our neighbours know that there may coughing and snoring (due to how thin the walls are).
The area is as you would expect - you’re in a National Park. Getting to main building for food is via paths which aren’t well lit or level so bear that in mind. No problem for us.
We enjoyed our evening meal and service was good. The receptionist was a little frosty but maybe she’d had a tough day. Breakfast service however wasn’t great. You couldn’t be in a hurry!!
We ventured to he downstairs bar as there was a singer playing. It was a quaint enjoyable place.
Overall we enjoyed our time there and would return
