Wonderful gem of a hotel

My stay at the Tamarix was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome and were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to a maisonette room. The staff are absolutely wonderful and very friendly. No request was a problem and they truly made our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful with a variety of food to choose from. I will definitely come back to this hotel again

Amazing stay! All the staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Very quiet and relaxed by the pool, exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was delicious, with different options every morning. Plenty of great restaurants for lunch and dinner in the evening within short walking distance. Only comment would be that it’s quite hard to understand the room and bed set up from the description and photos. Could be clearer so you know exactly what you’re booking.

The rating is correct. I was a little apprehensive about staying here as it looked below the standard of our normal type of hotel. However, it is more than made up for by the friendliness of the staff and the relaxed environment. Our room exceeded expectations with a jacuzzi and sun beds on the roof as well as a balcony overlooking the pool. Nice touches like a bottle of wine on arrival and sweets for the kids. So, not a 5* hotel (nor does it claim to be) but a very welcome surprise!

The Tamarix is a beautiful quant small property, quite unlike typical western hotels. It feels like a home. The staff was exceptional. The beach is within walking distance as are several great restaurants. It was our first visit to Santorini. This hotel is in Kamari which does not look like the picture postcards of Santorini. For that, one would have to stay in Oia - but would likely have to put up with huge crowds especially during tourist season. So if one wanted to avoid that, Kamari is a great choice.
