6/10 Good

The lodge is not up to code, extremely small and uncomfortable beds. Desperately needs a renovation. The trim, wood work- whatever you wanna call it is all slapped together . Reminds me of how my old landlord would fix things. Considering this is the closest place to the entrance of mt rainier, I'd expect it to relfect the beauty of it a LITTLE BIT. It remains teh cheapest option to stay at in ashford but other are not too much more.

4/10 Fair

The room I wanted was not available, called before I left my house which is 2Hrs away and was not told there was anything wrong. Room was suppose to be a “upgrade” bathroom floor was badly un even, one of the beds might be broken. Wanted to go and tell front desk but they were out by 5. Also didn’t need a 2 bed upgrade, it was just me and my wife. Friendly customer service.

This is winter, and it’s cold… AC is still in the window, leaving about an inch of cold air coming through, we covered it with a plastic bag… 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper was left, and we ran out… Beds were made but fairly certain bedding was not clean… crumbs and a dark spots on the bedding and pillow cases. Not sure how old the mattresses are, but very uncomfortable, you were either heading upstream or down stream depending on what angle you were facing… They advertised WiFi, um very very spotty WiFi, and we were told it in the office this building has great WiFi… 🙄 We were supposed to stay 1 more night, however neither my friend or myself would probably be able to walk if we slept here 1 more night… my back is already giving me issues with 1 night… I will not be back to the Gateway inn…

Overall ok but hot water was enough only for me and daughter. My son and husband had to wait but it took too long. When I wanted to make a cup of coffee in the morning, the coffee maker had mold inside, so I gave up. Whoever answers phone at front desk doesn’t speak English. And mattress was 👎

Have concern regarding cleanliness. I see some socks on couch. And some dust in washroom. Pillow covers were also untidy.

The cabin we stayed in was perfect for the two of us. It was nice and cozy and everything was clean. You could tell the cabins were pretty old based on the way it leaned but otherwise was a fantastic stay! Would stay here again for sure!

We had a lovely stay here!! We stayed for the weekend, the bed was incredibly comfy! They had direct TV setup for us and the heaters going when we got there so it was nice and cozy. They also offer coffee, a mini fridge, have a full bathroom and even a massage chair which we weren’t expecting. Checkin/checkout was a breeze! The mountain was just a few minutes way for a fun day of hiking as well. Highly recommend staying here if you want a nice relaxing stay☺️

8/10 Very good

The cabin was cozy and sufficient, but the housekeeping needs improvement. We stayed for about a week, and upon arrival, we had to ask for clean bed sheets, as there was a vast amount of hair and debris in the bed. That paired with cobwebs, bugs, and a mouse on the last night, but I did expect some of this as it is a rural cabin. The staff did take care of our needs on their time, which began about 8:30am (things like extra towels or toilet paper and replenishing wood, etc.). There are no dining facilites on site, but some decent restaurants down the road. Like any tourist destination, be prepared to spend a bit extra on food. The nearest mainline grocery and dining was about 45 minutes away. We used the fireplace to assist in cooking our own food, as there is only a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker in the cabin. All in all, I'd recommend and return, however, I do hope cleanliness improves.

Right at the park entrance

Nice little cabin with plenty of room. This property is right outside the gate at Rainier National Park. Easy check in and friendly staff. If I had to recommend one thing, it would be new pillows. Pillow wear flat and worn out. Great property and location.
