Ok hotel, but not foreigner friendly
Overall a decent stay, but I probably won't stay here again, and I will explain why. Like most places in China, they don't speak any English. Ironically, Sanya gets many Russian tourists so signs are in Russian and most places speak Russian and Chinese. I arrive early but dispite having available rooms, they tell me to wait until 2pm to checkin. Before this, they actually told me they don't rent to foreigners (with a translation app)! I was like, what?! I even showed my reservation. I leave and go to the beach and return at 12 noon and had better luck. They pull up my reservation, ask many questions, call management, sneak a photo of me with their iphone, and finally give me my key. They tell me you need a China SIM card for a SMS wifi code, which I didn't have. Luckily, a guy at the front used his number for the SMS text to connect me. There is another wifi in the room they told me didn't work, but it did just fine, no SMS needed, the password was the hotel phone number as written in the room. They let me check out late, in the evening, by paying for a partial stay the next day. Decent area, 10 minute walk to beach. 2 free bottles of water. I will get something more foreigner friendly next time. I should have known since all the TA reviews are in Chinese.
