If you are traveling through Brussels for a short stay, Hotel Midi is the ideal choice. It is less than a five minute walk to Brussels-Midi station, it is wonderfully clean and well-maintained, and comfortable. The breakfast is included in the price and the refrigerator contains everything you need. The coffee is strong and easy to prepare. Enjoying a petit dejeuner on the spacious bed in the morning is a luxury. There is a small inconvenience with accessing the internet. If you have a MAC device, it seems to be troublesome. If you know how to set up a proxy server (which I don't), then apparently you will be fine. I discovered that if you stand outside the proprietor's door on the rez de chausse, you can login to the internet Then just return to the downstairs room and the connection will stay intact. It is worth mentioning that any are in any city that is near a transport hub, like a train station, is not the most chichi of neighborhoods. If this is a concern, then you may not be happy here. But if you understand how vibrant and eclectic city life flows, you will feel comfortable here. The Grand Place is just a 15 minute walk away and there one can find restos, bars, and the most precious TOONE marionette theatre.
Artur is most kind and helpful as a proprietor. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will not hesitate to return here for my next pass through Brussels.
