We stayed for four nights at the end of October and absolutely loved B&B Sa Cruxitta.
Situated on the sea front in Portoscuso, a quiet marina town in the south west of Sardinia, the B&B is a perfect base for exploring this area of the island, especially with free parking out front for our rental car. From here, you can easily visit the islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro, the towns Iglesias and Carbonia, the stunning belvedere of Nebida and the stunning beach and sand dunes in Porto Pino.
Signora Carmen was a fantastic host who looked after us well. Although she only speaks a little English, she was still able to give us lots of great tips on where to visit during our stay and made us feel exceptionally welcome.
Our room was spacious and clean, the breakfasts were varied and delicious and the view from the front of the building is stunning.
There is not a massive amount to see and do in Portoscuso, it is not a big tourist resort. There are just a few shops, restaurants and bars (some closed out of season), but there is a fantastic beach within walking distance along the beautiful coastline. We found it to be perfect for us. Do not be put off by the Port Talbot-esque industrial area on the drive into the town - it is pretty much out of sight once in Portoscuso itself!
We would recommend B&B Sa Cruxitta to anyone.
