I do not speak Korean, so bear what I say with a grain of salt, but...
The property was difficult to access unless you have a car (but then again it is a motel. It's a 10 minute and ~$7AUD taxi ride from Hadong bus terminal)
The gate at the entrance was also difficult to use. Apparently you press a red button out the front to let the staff know you're there, but it was never apparent there were any staff AT the property. In addition, anybody could press the red button. Perhaps if I knew this and was more patient I would have established a rapport with the owners, preventing any unlikely intruders as they'd know who I was. In any case this is inconvenient if you need to catch a bus or do anything else on a tight schedule. All this information was ascertained with the help of friendly local Koreans.
Finally, the booking states that "The price DOES NOT include any applicable hotel service fees, charges for optional incidentals (such as minibar snacks or telephone calls), or regulatory surcharges. The hotel will assess these fees, charges, and surcharges upon check-out." Despite not using any "optional incidentals" I was charged an extra 30 000 Won upon my departure (there was no assessment of my room). If this is a flat surcharge, the motel should state this upfront; as furthermore ATMs are far away if needed.
The name of the motel is also confusing--on Wotif it says Ssan Motel but in reality it is "Kan Motel."
The bathroom had a lingering smell of smoke.
