Surprised the inside looked more like an old dormitory instead of a hotel. The entrance, hall and stairs to the laundry need some TLC. In our room, we enjoyed the kitchen with stove and refrigerator. The bathroom was up to date and clean enough. Our beds were comfortable but the pillows were terrible.
And unusual, but very Charming place. I'll be honest, I thought the place was a little bit sketchy when I first went to go check in, but despite the unusual nature of the property, the rooms are large, comfortable, and I had an outstandingly Pleasant stay. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Building was pretty, room was more spacious than I anticipated. Checking in was a little strange as there didn't seem to be a conventional front office area. My room was in a separate building around a five minute drive away which was odd as well. Room was clean for the most part.
The owner is very polite and she let us check in an hour early. Room was nice kitchenette and jetted tub. People in other rooms quiet, peaceful stay at Christmas. Would highly recommend to others.
We have stayed before and liked it. This time was not good. When we got to the building where we needed to go, there was a lot of snow and ice. My friend took me close to the building because I cannot walk well. A man drove up behind us and said we cannot park there, it is for fires. My friend explained she was dropping me close to the door. He didn't move his truck. So my friend couldn't move either. He finally left, so my friend parked our vehicle. I went to get my husband at the airport at 1 a.m. We got back to the hotel around 3. My husband turned on the television. We were in bed by 3:15. All of a sudden some guy was out in the hall yelling because "there was too much noise and it was 3:00 in the morning And, people are trying to sleep." He said, "Turn off the damn television. " His voice got gruffer and louder. I thought for sure he was going to break down the door. The television was not on more than 5 to 10 minutes. It wasn't that loud. The guy yelling in the hallway caused more sound than the television. My husband had traveled since 6:00 a.m. and finally arrived in Fairbanks at the hotel at 3:00 a.m. He was tired. He is a disabled veteran and was starting to unwind and go to sleep. He had two doctor appointments and two hospital tests at 9:30 a.m. This is the first time we ever had a problem like this. Oh..and the man who complained that my friend took me close to the building and told her not to park there...was the co-owner of the motel.
âOff the beaten path.â Checking in at one location and cabbing it to another isnât my preference, but I can deal with it. Water pressure is excellent. Kitchenette saves me money, over the long run. The only thing thatâs missing is local TV. This is more of an efficiency than a touristy hotel experience. I like quiet, clean, and quaintâŠand the owners are nice people.
Pros: It was clean, fairly easy to get to. The reception personal was nice, checked me in pretty late and drove me to the property where my room was.
Cons: Didn't have the breakfast that supposed to be included even thou I asked on check in whrre should I go for breakfast.
And the people staying next door to my room were extremely loud. There alarm was going off at 5:30am for over 30 minutes.
Overall i would stay there again if/when I'm back and hopefully the people next door won't be the same.
The property is under construction. Its not a hotel as advertised, so no cleaning every day. The furniture is old and there were not enough kitchen utensils.
They have different properties so we arrived and they took us to other property. Although its a good price for Fairbanks, I dont believe its suitable for tourism purposes. Looks more like a low budget local rental.
