Hermosa (which means “beautiful”) is a 15-minute drive north of Coco, a bustling big town/little city with booming nightlife and lots of restaurants, bars shops and even a casino.

If you rent a car and drive north of Hermosa along the coast, you won’t find anything you would call a “town.” But this coastline boasts some of the finest beaches and priciest resorts in Costa Rica, including the Four Seasons, Secrets and Dreams.

Hermosa is just a half-hour from the international airport in Liberia on paved roads, making it very easy to get here. And it’s about 40 minutes from the inland regional
