Simple living in a fantastic location
Beach view rooms with great kitchenette. Plates, forks, cups, wine glasses all stocked for you. Grocery Store across the street so I had coffee, fruit and yogurt every morning from my balcony. Hotel bar right on beach with a great happy hour deal, free wifi in the lobby that worked REALLY well. All amazing, clean and would def stay there again!

Has been hotel
This hotel is going to close for refurnishuring. Hopefully because it is very old, paintings is out in all the public area, swimming pool has been, sun protection full of cigarettes holes and so on. Dustbin and waste sheets on the floor while cleaning and afterwards. Reception agents very friendly and housekeeper too, manager also.

Perfect!
It's closing for a refurb soon, but it is a fantastic place - great beachside location, close to Holetown - we'll be back!

Fabulous location.
Cannot fault location, open your door onto the balcony and there is the Carribean Sea. Staff helpful and friendly. Bar called Surfside next door where you can watch all the Football, ( bit expensive ) but view at sunset is fabulous. Sunbeds are free at hotel so over a week it saves you a few dollars. Reggae bus for getting around stops right outside hotel.I believe the Hotel is going to have a little overhaul soon, which it needs as it could do with a little attention here and there, but would recommend to friends.

Location, location, location
Location, location, location. Sunswept is a budget hotel on the beach in the middle of everything. Great view from room; beaches, banks, grocery store, shopping, bars, restaurants, snorkelling, sailing, jetskiing, charter boats, fishing are right outside your room. Plenty of local flavor (which in Barbados is a good thing). The only downfall is the bedding; hard uneven mattresses and incredibly lumpy pillows. Even the lumps had lumps. Otherwise, paradise at a budget.

Fantastic location
Really enjoyed our stay. Snorkeling was good right from beach in front of hotel. Was in great location-restaurants, grocery store and bank very close by. Easy access to buses. The building needs some upkeep which we understand is to take place this April. If you want a luxury hotel, this is not it, but if you want comfortable lodging in a great location, I would recommend it.

Not a nice hotel. Avoid it.
The only good thing about the hotel was the nice polite staff. The cost should be half of what we paid for the quality of the hotel.

Great location and affordable hotel
The hotel is a little dated so the condition score is a lower. However, the hotel met all of our needs and was kept nice and clean. The room is a nice size with a large bed and kitchenette. The view of the sunset from the balcony each night was lovely and there are all the amenities you need close by. Overall I would say that this hotel is in a great locatiion and is value for money.

Best location!
although the sunswept is older it was clean and the staff was very helpful. the location is so perfect, except for any particular sites u want to see, Everything u want is within walking distance, and when u do want to venture out the bus stop is right there also. We had a fabulous trip and the beach is breathtaking and only steps from the motel.

Need to improve.
I could not find the hotel, because from the outside you cannot tell it is a hotel. The hotel is nothing compare to the pictures they have on line. They need to paint the outside of the hotel and put up a better sign. They also need to serve breadfast at the restaurant. On a good note, the receptionist who was at the front desk when I got there was very very nice, her name is Lisa. I asked for two double beds, but there was a kings size bed when I got there but Lisa tried her best to make it happen for us. THANK YOU LISA FOR TRYING TO MAKE MY STAY COMFY.

Just ok
If you have family in town ,and you dont plan to spend to much time in the room then this is the place. The pool was clean, but very small. Big plus that the beach is only steps away, and the small kitchen is helpful. Don't expect any extras, or remote for the t.v.

We stayed in two different places while in Barbados, this being our first. And by far sunswept was our favorite. When we got there it was late at night and from the outside I kinda was panicing and not sure of the place. We walked into our room and i was a little more reasurred. My husband loved the sound of the crickets and frogs outside. By morning we were both in shock on how BEAUTIFUL it was. It was the calm side of the island so the water was clear and terquoise. It was exactly what you'd see in a post card. We were going to walk to the shipwreck to snorkel which was maybe a quarter mile down, but ended up renting a jet ski from a local. You have to barter with them for a while about the price though. We actually got to snorkel by the shipwreck and when down another 1/2 mile and snorkeled with the turtle which was the highlight of our trip. Our other hotel was by more of a party area and had more waves to play in. If that's what you're looking for stay in The Gap. I would recommend eating at the Beachhouse about a block away. It was by far the best food. If your looking for an amazing resort hotel, this isn't it, but if you want the most amazing views, sunsets, and water to play in, then this is the place for you. We would for sure stay here again.

Don't expect luxury but fantastic views!
The hotel is a 2.5 star property and this is pretty much what it is. It is fine but nothing fancy. The location however is fantastic - very conveniently located just steps from bus stop (make sure you jump on a reggae bus rather than taking a taxi - much cheaper and so much more fun). The beach is literally a step away and the view from the balconies are spectacular (although I can't imagine there being much view from the ground floor so if you want a view of the sun setting each evening you may want to ask to be on a higher floor). The only problem I had with the hotel was the pillows - very lumpy and I had to change mine for a slightly less lumpier pillow but when you can fall asleep listening to the ocean in an air conditioned room its not that important :0) I would recommend this hotel just don't expect luxury.

Good value for money.
I was in need of rest and relaxation and this hotel certainly met my requirements. The staff was friendly and helpful. At the mere mention of any problem they were on top of it immediately. The room was always clean and well kept. Although not a fancy place I thoroughly enjoyed the benefit of being on the beach for early morning walks and swimming. The easy access to restaurants and shopping malls was a bonus and I look forward to returning there in the near future.

Good Location
A very good location for Holetown and all amenities there, supermarket opposite and plenty of bars/restaurants close by. The hotel itself is looking quite tired and a lick of paint everywhere would improve it quite a bit. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was kept clean on a daily basis. We thought the room was expensive for what we got, but then, it was our first time in Barbados, so can't compare with other hotels, maybe cost was quite normal for Barbados.

Beauty by the sea, Barabdos
The hotel is a nice seaside hotel with a very lovely view of the ocean and a kitchenette. It is your typical casual laid back place to stay. If you are looking for elegance or upscale facilities this is not for you. If you are simply looking for a clean, basic place to stay with a comfy bed and a gorgeous view this will do. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, however some of the men in the water sports shack right next to the beach were pushy and actually rude. I would have to say this would be the only downside to the hotel, is the water sports shack being right there and the fact that the boats and jetskis are often right in the water where hotel guests are suppose to swim. The restaurant Zaccios, locate at the hotel was excellent as well and the servers were very courteous. Surfside bar/restaurant right down the beach was ok, however our waitress was extremely rude as well. There is a KFC across the street in the gas station which is convenient and tasty also. You can easily get around Barbados on the bus. I would not pay the taxi fees. We went to Bridgetown, Oistins and Crane Beach on the bus and it only costs $1 US each way. And I am sure you can get to tother places easily to, best to ask the bus drivers and they will tell you if there is a bus to get you where you want to go. Crane Beach is a must see! So gorgeous!!

Not a bad place to Stay
Not a bad place to stay. Free Wifi in the waiting area. Had an issue with the tub being clogged but due to the bank holiday had to wait three days until it was fixed. That was the only major complaint. The staff downstairs are friendly and pleasant. There's a supermarket right across the street from the hotel so you can run across and buy groceries. I would stay here again.

Needs work, but perfect spot.
This hotel is definately in need of a proper refurbishment, its a little bit tired and run down. However I've stayed in a lot of Caribbean hotels and when I booked this because it was cheaper than everything else in holetown, I was'nt expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. The room was bright, airy, clean, and comfortable. The little kitchen was a nice bonus as we cooked dinner and had it on the balcony overlooking the water. Sure there are better hotels on the island for less money, but if you something which has great restaurants and nightlife on your doorstep and is right on the waterfront then this is hard to beat for the price. You definately won't find anything else as good in Holetown for the price. Would stay again.

Best value in Holetown
This hotel is so very convenient for everything. The beach is one step away - plenty of sunbeds if required. We did not use the swimming pool as the sea was so close but it was ideal for small children. The hotel had a marked swimming area which was good for snorkelling. All rooms have a sea view - ground floor opens on to the pool area. Wifi available in the reception area. Rooms very basic but not much more needed. Supermarket across the rod and bus stops outside. Must be the best value in Holetown.
