A little slice of heaven
The room and view were Amazing!! The staff even left me a personal Birthday cake in my room. The nightly shows were great. Hotel was prime location-walk to Atlantis casino and straw market/Atlantis shopping marina. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

Could not get into the specialty restaurants without making a reservation. Even though it wasn’t full, you still needed a reservation and when you went to make your reservation, it said there were none available for that day. Very disappointing. We love stay at the RIU resorts but not this location.

Read reviews before we arrived & expected problems. Pros- Adults only. All Inclusive. Buffet food selections. Alcohol, minibar, coffee in rooms. Comfortable beds. Roomy ocean view room balconies. Drinks at bars -plentiful & bartenders great. (Bring to go cup. They will make drinks in them instead of the little plastic cups) Staff is happy to help you. Coffee/Desert shop in the lobby. Jerked chicken lunch bar by pool. 5 restaurants on site. (Japanese restaurant excellent - only 1we got reservations) Calipso bar- great & plenty of snacks. Local entertainment- excellent, especially dancers. Hotel & grounds -clean, well kept. Taxis always ready to go to town or wherever. Small Straw Market & shops within walking distance. Cons-Food- good but not kept hot. Spicy food not marked. The hotel is dated, but are working on upgrades. RIU app -not user friendly. Only way you can reserve restaurant is thru app. Can’t reserve that day & only next 2 days. (They don’t tell you this) Biggest problem hotel has & most of complaints. Near impossible to get reservation for restaurants. Most times app - NOT AVAILABLE. 2 pools nice, needed repairs. Games & RIO cash were corny. Internet a problem to log in to play. Banana boat, wave runners, para sail boats were there only a few days. Buffet coffee machine broke mid way thru stay. Not sure how coffee was made in kitchen but not sure it qualified as coffee. I give this hotel stay 3.5 stars out of 5. I would go back knowing what I know now.

We found roaches in our bathroom the first night, the staff are all extremely rude, people harass you all day at the beach to buy things, the blankets smelled bad, there are no toiletries at all, the food is gross and the manager charged me $40 because my girlfriend got her period and “dirtied” one of the wash rags

From the moment I arrived the entire staff were friendly helpful and went above and beyond my expectations. The property was always clean. The food was amazing. Check out the free barbecue at the jerk center. Watch for the birds, they right to your plate. Thank you to Que tee and Ms Linda at front desk. I will be going back 2x at least in 2025

At first I loved the hotel until it was time for me to go to sleep and I found roaches in the blanket. Housekeeping came with new pillowcases and two fresh blankets but I did not want to sleep in the room. I had to wait a full day to change rooms. The hotel did apologize by sending champagne and fruits platter to my new room. I did appreciate that although I was completely annoyed because my friends who were on a different floor also experienced problems with roaches in their rooms. The food from buffet and restaurant that was undercooked and under seasoned. The best food I had on the resort was the Jerk Hut!!! The top shelf liquor was okay. Some of the staff members were amazing and friendly but others like the restaurant host of the steakhouse was very ignorant and rude. One lady at the buffet had a whole attitude when I asked for chicken or turkey sausage slamming the food on my plate. Mumbling about me not eating the pork. The entertainment staff, bartenders, pool and beach staff were all amazing. Try this resort if you want your experience maybe be different than mine.
