Favorite Hotel in Lancaster
We always try to stay at the Avid when we go to Lancaster. The location is great, the place is always clean, and the staff is always friendly. They offer free breakfast, free parking, and 24/7 complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. 24 hour fitness room, and an indoor pool just round out the great amenities.

Great room skip breakfast!!
Front desk clerk was very friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint would be the breakfast. They offered scrambled eggs but they were either frozen or powdered and just not edible. Fried potatoes were cold and just unappealing. Cold cereal tasted generic and coffee was very pale and weak. Had we known how bad it would be we would have planned on eating elsewhere! By then there was no time and we would have missed our show!

Just stay downtown.
We stayed at the Avid hotel for a concert at the Lancaster convention center, it’s about a 15 minute drive. The hotel is very basic, decent cleanliness, spacious room and bed was comfortable. Lots of loud kids staying here. There are no coffee machines in the rooms, but free coffee in the lobby. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. We asked 3 times for a 1 hour late checkout. I was told to call at 9am and speak with the manager. They declined our request and didn’t give any explanation. Surrounding area smells like sewage. Next time we’ll just stay downtown.

Upon arrival, our check in was so so, the woman on duty was less than friendly. Also, found out from her that there is no laundry facilities onsite which was surprising since they have a pool onsite. Outside of that, the hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious.

Just spent 2 days in the area exploring Amish country which is close by and centrally located. The hotel is extremely clean, modern and well managed. Our king size bed was very comfortable, the room was immaculant, they served an excellent breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, home fries, juice, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, bagles, english muffins, yogurt and tea. They have an indoor, heated pool and work out room, free unlimited ice. We stayed two nights and we were very happy, especially since the rate with taxes came out to about $121.00 per night. Can't beat that. This is not the Ritz Carlton, but if you are looking for a clean, modern, comfortable, well located motel in the middle of Amish country, you could do worse.
