The property is a nice location and good size. We hoped to check in early as we were attending a wedding - but were told they were short-staffed, so no early check-in; they would leave a key at the front desk. While the bed linens looked fresh and clean, and the bathroom seemed clean with decent towels, the decor and cosmetics have been neglected - peeling wallpaper, dirty/stained carpets; we opened the window upon our arrival to find guests gathered around a firepit a level below us so we had to shut it - but the crank arm was broken so we had to remove the screen and manipulate the window to closed/locked. The property has a lot of potential but needs a major update.

The Stowehof is set on a beautiful property with terrific mountain views, and the staff there are first-rate -- so friendly and helpful and responsive. But the inn itself -- and especially the individual rooms -- is in dire need of updating and repair. We heard this will be happening soon. Hope the charm of the original and the welcoming vibe will be somehow incorporated into the renovations.

Stowehof is like no other property I have ever visited. It is unique, full of character, and has pools, sauna, hot tub, and views. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing fun stay.

I won’t say it had bells and whistles but it had character . Liked their lounge area. Plenty of seating. Beautiful grounds tucked away off mountain road. Coffee, tea station everyday . Serving breakfast daily. Restaurant was closed. Staffing was accommodating. Pet friendly, pool table, indoor and outdoor pool. Beds were comfortable. Some rooms had wallpaper peeling off.

Old fashioned getaway
We were on a summer vacation for hiking and the hotel location is ideal for getting around to different hikes and also restaurants and Main Street. It was a good place to crash at night and overnight once we were done with whatever we did during the day. The views of the mountains were absolutely beautiful. The hotel itself was very old fashioned, however, some miscommunication with the restaurant (whether it was open or not) and doors that didn’t seem to close. Not a lot of staff working left us with no room service, which was not the worse thing in the world but seemed like we left our room messy. Overall, a good experience for the 4 days that we were there.

The place has not been renovated, and is not very clean. When I say not renovated it’s the same as it was 24 years ago. The air conditioner was prehistoric and didn’t work well. It was 80 degrees. We couldn’t keep the sliding door open because, the screen was ripped. The overall stay was great only because of who I was with and because I hadn’t gone on a trip with my husband without children in 24 years since we stayed there on our honeymoon. The hotel needs to be updated, and attention to detail with cleaning. The Mountain View is spectacular however if you get a balcony

Excellent service
The young woman at the front desk was especially cordial and helpful to accommodate my needs at check in. She went the extra mile to put a roll away cot in the room after technical difficulties with the booking app.

4/10 Fair

The hotel is located in a hill. The road in front of the hotel is covered in mud. The hotel is an old wood structure. It is very old, with no recent renovation. The noise insulation is poor, you can hear other people talking. The hotel front desk is not always present. I had a hard time finding parking in the evening. The hotel room was aged, a lot of dirt mark on the wall, the bath tub is really bad and unclean. The nice thing is they have coeffe and hot water at the lobby all the time. Overall, the stay was just so so, I won't come back again.
