Maison Saint Louis Vieux Port, Marseille

We spent 4nights here on our trip to Marseille. t is in a very convenient sport just a short walk from the old port and near to many good restaurants and bars. The room was very small but manageable enough with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a good shower with plenty of hot water at all times and it was nice and clean. There was no view but windows were openable which we preferred rather than using the air conditioning. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but breakfast and evening meals looked good. The bar was good and reasonably priced. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English, which as good for us! I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

I had such a lovely stay here - from a convenience point of view, it is superbly located minutes away from the Old Port and within walking distance to most sights and museums. It is also conveniently located to train station, tram and bus access to take you to other parts of the city and beyond. From the actual hotel point of view I could not have asked for anything better. The room was clean and had all the amenities I would need but over and above the staff were absolutely fantastic - all those that I met were incredibly helpful and polite - from the lady who checked us in allowing us to keep our bags in the room even though we were early, and accommodated my request for a room higher up, the lovely gentleman who did his very best for me to find me a table where we could eat bouillabaisse, another kind gentleman who helped get us a taxi, the cleaners who did a wonderful job - the list is endless. I would definitely book there if ever in Marseille again and would certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a convenient, clean hotel in the heart of the city.

Really lovely hotel and well situated in the town, this does mean a bit of noise that you will get in a big city but it was fine. We were particularly impressed by the size of our room and bathroom compared to our precious stay in Marseille.

This is an adorable hotel in the heart of Marseille. The staff were all really lovely. We had a warm greeting at check in and this remained throughout the entire 5-night stay. The staff are young and super friendly, and the place has a relaxed, informal yet professional feel. Breakfast was relatively limited in choice (eggs, bacon, bread, cheese, ham, pastries, fruit, yoghurt) but uniformly delicious, with the eggs and bacon cooked to order. The coffee and juice were wonderful! The aircon in the room was amazing and much needed as the temperatures during the day were in the high 30s. The bed was really comfy and our room was lovely with high ceilings and a balcony overlooking the square and the city. Be aware that this is a very noisy neighbourhood. There is a rowdy bar just down the street and we could hear music and revellers on some of our nights beyond 1am, then the sanitation truck made a sweep at around 4am each night, which always woke us up. It didn't spoil our sleep as the bed and aircon were just so comfortable, and central Marseille is never going to be a quite place. Do be aware though that if you want quiet you might want to request a room off the main square. Room cleaning was good but not brilliant though we had a different maid on our penultimate day and there was a noticeable improvement in cleaning and replacement of coffee sachets, towels etc for our final night. We would definitely stay again. Merci!

Hotel recently refurbished but still room for some improvement. Shower poor and areas in the bathroom could be cleaner. Bed really comfort and house keeping good each. Hotel bar a bit hit and miss with opening times. Overall great value for money and would return again
