a gem with a garden
This was one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. My room felt like a full apartment and there was art and charm in every corner. The interior design is immaculate. The price is so reasonable for what you get!

Great
Great hotel - more flats than a hotel. Nice neighborhood. Very expensive breakfast- not worth the 19 EUR per head.

A great apartment, close to the transport hub of Alexanderplatz but slightly out of the centre which gave us a chance to explore a new area. Beautifully appointed; the bathroom in particular was awesome.

Our room was large and unique, more like a small apartment, with a small kitchen. The breakfast room is very pleasant and the breakfast really excellent. It is a nice place to return to after a day of touristing. Highly recommended.

What an amazing place, especially for the price. Our room was an oasis, with extraordinary artistic touches and every amenity. The courtyard was enticing and I wish we’d had more time to sit there. The location is literally at the tram, but the hotel was quiet. I would love to transport the decor to my house. You will not be sorry to stay here. We stayed in the Picasso room.

Great stay
Got a little concerned a cake k in because I thought I had reserved for the Blue House and we were put on the main hotel which had lower ratings. W got a beautiful studio apartment with a large bathroom including a shower and claw foot tub. The hotel Is in a neighborhood with several very good restaurants near by. The patio is beautiful. The City Sighseeing hop on and hop off bus (the yellow one) has a stop very close to the apartment. Isnot marked but they come by regularly.

The Kairo room is gorgeous and so is the patio. The owners really pay attention to detail. The place really is special. We didn’t get the breakfast but there are good options in the neighborhood, Prenzlauer Berg, which is kind of the Berlin version of LA’s Silver Lake. Bonus - the hotel has a sweet cat.

Excellent boutique hotel
Quirky but lovely room. Fabulous bathroom with its own television and radio. Hotel has its own private courtyard and is an ideal spot to sit in the shade in the afternoon.Good position as close to underground and trams but really quiet and peaceful area. Well worth buying a three day ticket for use on public transport. Get it at the underground near the hotel and once validated you can use it without worrying about finding ticket machines everytime you want to go anywhere. There are some great restaurants in the vicinity. Particularly recommend Betty and Caty for breakfast.

Good!
this is not a typical hotel. the reception is empty after 6pm, i arrived at 11pm and they had to leave the key on a box with a paper explaining how to enter the place. the apartment was bigger then i expected, equipped with everything i needed, the decor had very good taste and the place was very silent too. the place was very charming indeed! breakfast is 20euros so i didnt taste it, but you can use the provided kitchen in your room! the gardens was not working, but because it was only late April - maybe in May it will be working. i recommend!

Very comfortable hotel in a quiet area.
The hotel was in a convenient location away from the centre in a tree-lined street. Welcoming staff and a very large room and clean bathroom. Very good facilities in the room, including plenty of seating, tea/coffee and water. Good shower and huge bath.

Charming hotel
What a surprise, boutique hotel, so roomy, lovely furnishings, very quiet. Two minutes to tram. 15 minute walk to Alexanderplatz.. Charming street. Welcoming back garden. Huge bath etc Little fridge. Nespresso machine and pods. Believe the breakfasts are good, but I just like yoghurt and piece of fruit. Small supermarket one minute away.

Cute place to stay in Berlin
Very charming boutique style hotel. I really liked that each room was equipped with a kitchenette in case you want to prepare some snacks in your room. It was a quiet place to stay and that was the most important thing for me. The interior design in the second building was really adorable. The garden was bright and tropical I almost felt as if I was in Havana. The rooms are each individually decorated in a cute way. The bed wasn't as comfortable for me as I'd hope but other reviewers commented it was really comfortable for them. Overall a nice stay in Berlin.

Stay here if you can
Great room and quaint hotel. Awesome location and off the tourist locale. Still in a great neighborhood with all the comforts of home. Small boutique place not for the full service hotel traveler. Feels more like B&B.

Very comfortable and charming room.
This is a boutique hotel with a very friendly staff. Our room was clean and thoughtfully laid out, included normal amenities (fridge, coffee) but also had nice stereo with mounted speakers and a bathtub with its own TV! Location was close to public transport and the neighborhood felt safe. I'd definitely stay here again when in Berlin.

Fabulous and quirky
We only stayed one night and didn't have breakfast which is taken in the restaurant a couple of doors down. The hotel is in a pleasant and quiet street just off a main road where you can get trams to the centre which is only a few stops away. We had a hire car which we were able to park outside on the street and the hotel gave us a parking permit which was 5 euros a day. We didn't use the car to get around Berlin but bought a ticket for public transport at the hotel. We stayed in the New York room which was fabulous. If you like something a bit different and quirky, this hotel is for you. The bed was massive and very comfortable, there was also a small kitchenette with fridge a large sofa and great tv and hifi. Fab shower, lovely roll top bath and all kinds of arty touches. Probably not great if you have mobility problems as there are little steps and changes of level here and there but we loved it. All the rooms have different themes so if we return to Berlin we'd definitely go back.

Pleasant and well located
Room had high ceilings, very nice, museum quality art, good lighting, comfortable bed. Bathroom paneled in wood and mirrors, with a stone trough for a sink. Lobby was in a building down the street, breakfast room in "my" building with a good breakfast buffet, very friendly service. Location: not much to do in the immediate surroundings, but good access to public transportation. Area is upscale residential, and fairly close (20 minute walk, Berlin is very spread out) is a Whole Foods meets East Village demographic, with lots of healthy little cafes, imaginative and/or all natural home decor, and parent and child oriented businesses (music schools, bookstores, natural fiber clothing, etc.). Lots of dads with Snugglies and strollers.

A Berlin oasis with an incredible staff!
My stay at Ackselhaus in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg was simply wonderful. From check-in to check-out, every detail was just perfect - largely due to the amazing staff. Pleasantly located on a quiet, tree-lined cobblestone street, and steps away from many quaint restaurants, cafes and boutiques, Ackselhaus is a best kept secret (shhh..don't tell anyone). My apartment was so charming, clean and spacious with a lovely view overlooking the gorgeous, serene garden. The Ackselhaus breakfast restaurant, with indoor and outdoor dining, serves a delicious, ample breakfast with a wonderful array of choices and the ambience is so tasteful, serene and delightfully European. There is also a very special restaurant "Pan Am Oli" next door to the Ackselhaus (again, indoor and al fresco dining) that is open for dinner with delicious food, wonderful service and ambiance. The walkable neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg is away from the bustle of Mitte (yet still within walking distance) and is filled with quaint restaurants, cafes and boutiques. Be sure to stop for a Matcha tea at the "Matchashop" on the same street as Ackselhaus...stroll to a wonderful breakfast at Anna Blume...while exploring Mitte, stop for a coffee and to-die-for, warm-from-the-oven cinnamon roll from "Niet fuer Brot" (among other incredible baked goods)! I felt so fortunate to have found Ackselhaus and can't wait to return. Thank you for a beautiful stay, Ackselhaus and your very special Staff!
