Other than a complete lack of hot water, no heating, and the hotel's location on a major (loud, disruptive) political protest route and tourist area, this hotel is cute and close to a few historic sites. I would not recommend coming in late fall or winter because of the hot water + heat situation, unless only for a very short stay. Otherwise, enjoy the nice hospitality and clean rooms in this well maintained and historic building.

It was a beautiful chic friend hotel its a block away from palacio vellasartes the gentlemen that attends the hotel he is a super nice friend I just can’t remember his name we had a small issue with the hot water but right away it was fixed no bad reviews about this hotel we loved it super comfy beds and the location is excellent their is a 24 hour bakery and restaurant next to the hotel we loved it too

Way beyond expectations
Excellent. The location, between the Zócalo & Alameda Central, couldn't be better. Francisco is eager to help with any issues. The café right across the street is friendly & convenient. I'm so glad we chose Casa Filomeno. Be ready for lots of street noise - I'm sure that's true everywhere in Centro Histórico.

This property is wonderfully located in the Historic District of Mexico City. I don’t know if you could find a more elegant apartment anywhere. Great location. Restaurants, pharmacy, medical evaluations, museums, a pedestrian only boulevard, and awesome city park all easy to enjoy. Francisco ensures security and is very helpful to make sure you feel safe and welcome.

This place is nice but the atmosphere and greeters are extremely sketchy. You will be greeted by a man dressed top to bottom in black with military boots a ski face mask and dark sunglasses, very suspicious. After a few incidents i had to leave earlier than expected for my safety.

The ad portrayed a lovely view of Palacio Bella Artes. In fact, it some distance away with zero view. The room they attempted to give me had no view, no sheer type curtains allowing light and everyone from street view could see in. The room was next to the elevator. I was left on the street ringing the bell 15 minutes before someone let me in though they had my arrival time. No greetings just ask for payment. Initial communication was non existent I have proof of my requests with no response ,and I had to track them down. When I saw the room they attempted to give me I requested a different room and was refused. I left. Only after I left did they attempt to give me a different room communication by WhatsApp not through Expedia. I went to and stayed at a different nice hotel. My credit card company is refunding my money because Filomina refuses. Hassle from start and absolutely not recommended. I've never before left a hotel or posted this type review before. Also their lobby floor and chairs are filthy.
