2/10 Poor
10 Jan 2025
Apartment looks good in photos but you can't tell that it reeks of an open sewer, dirty grit and small gravel fall from the open beam ceiling periodically, and electrical problems cause the breaker to flip off often. We reset it 37 times during our stay.
Mmega, property management, is unreachable from 6 pm until 10 am and not at all on weekends or holidays. We tried every way to contact them. Extremely poor hospitality when the power is off and in the cold and dark middle of the night you have to climb down 3 flights of stone stairs to reset a breaker.
Their attempt to solve the sewer stench? A scented diffuser, then Lysol, then a handyman installing something in the shower drain. But it still smelled terrible! Wasting days of our vacation because they are renting an apartment that no one should be breathing inside of.
It's also located on a loud busy street with a restaurant beneath you and a bar next door. No insulation, you can hear every footfall, voice, or door closing.
None of this was disclosed to us before paying $5000 for a holiday here. And no discount was offered for all the problems, so we have to pursue that with our credit card company.
We have visited Florence many times for month long stays, and rented apartments each time. We know that it's an old city with old buildings and old plumbing. But we've never rented from Mmega. Beware if you expect basic hospitality from them, they are not in the hospitalty business.
