The resort is in dire need of a top-to-bottom renovation or a full redevelopment. It may have been a luxurious resort at one point, but it is old, dated, and not maintained well. The front desk staff were rude and off putting, making me feel undesired from the moment I arrived through the moment I checked out. They were non-accommodating, didn’t provide any information on the amenities, and were dismissive to any concerns brought to their attention. Don’t be fooled by the attractive prices, as there are fees and penalties at every step - if you lose your towel card, your wristband, your room key, etc, you will be charged upwards of $50 USD each for replacement. Even though it is advertised as “all inclusive,” there are service fees at every step for amenities such as room service.
The room was serviceable at best, with unreliable water pressure, calcium buildup around plumbing fixtures, and no information provided for ordering room service.
On the one occasion I was able to successfully order room service, I had to walk down to the front desk (because the don’t answer the phone) where I was read the menu over the front desk phone (because there is no physical menu). The food that arrived was inedible, I took one bite, threw the rest away, and went to sleep hungry. This is after spending $10 on the “service fee” to have it brought to my room.
Overall a terrible experience. The only positive comment is that the cleaning staff did a great job with my room each day.
