Great place to stay! The room was easy to check into with staff at the desk 24 hours, clean, comfortable, and spacious compared to other places we stayed in Scotland. Almost everything was spot on! Yes, it was pricey but that’s what’s to be expected during Edinburgh Fringe month when everything shoots up in price. The location was great tucked down a small cobbled side street so it was quiet at night. The bed was very comfy, the shower and bathroom were spotless and the little kitchenette was extremely well equipped. All the front desk staff were charming and friendly. We did use the air con and that was quiet and efficient. My only gripe (and this did leave me with a slightly bitter taste) was the fact I saw other foreign guests being charged extra for a change of towels!!!! Knowing what they had probably already paid for their room, I found this really distasteful and verging on extortion - not a good look! I can honestly say I have never come across this practice before! I think even the front desk staff member was embarrassed to have to charge extra for this! Perhaps this petty practice should be reviewed?
