I found the staff to be all very very helpful indeed. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was also excellent . Juice, fruit! Joghurt, meat and cheeses, and a variety of croissants and local biscuits. Staff were present to make coffee or tea. The “Convivio “ breakfast room was nicely decorated with a wall of pictures and prints. Great location, close to the centre of everything. Great stay, thankyou.

We paid more to stay in a central location and 3star hotel. This is not what I would call a hotel more a large old building that has rooms. The photos are accurate but must have been taken by an excellent photographer who brought extra lighting as we didn’t initially recognise our room from the pictures! The room had two tiny bathrooms which was odd. The showers both need some attention, the tiles are not clean and the grout is orange or black at the bottom. Not pleasant. The breakfast was basic but sufficient. The saving grace was the very kind and helpful staff, thank you, we appreciated your cheerful acts of kindness! I looked up how the star rating works in Italy and am surprised this “hotel” is rated 3*

The location is fabulous. Could be noisy for some - eg Thursday market day starts early! But we loved it. Immaculate in cleanliness. It's a 3 star but suite had a kettle and china cups and dressing gown and slippers. Nice and warm on cold nights but also windows that open. Lovely breakfast room but huge top marks to the staff who are brilliant and can't do enough. Will stay again!

The Hotel Broletto was a pleasant place to stay, in a very convenient location, close to the Palazzo Ducale and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. They work very hard! We enjoyed breakfast of cappuccino, croissants, fruit, meat, cheese, cereal and more. The fridge was full of free drinks and snacks. Our balcony had a screen that pulled down so we could keep doors open without admitting mosquitoes. We loved the views of the streets below. Everything worked well in the room and our only complaint was that there were few places to put clothing, etc. More hooks and larger night tables or a coffee table would have been welcome. Mantua is small enough so it’s easy to walk around most of the beautiful old city.

Both receptionists, Clarissa and Nicole, were exceptionally helpful. Other than this, I struggle to find anything positive about this hotel for the following reasons: The bathroom was far too small and grubby. Placing the new toilet roll on top of the toilet brush is not anyone’s idea of standard sanitation. The toiletries provided included shower gel and body lotion but no shampoo. The shower pressure was not stable and the wall mounted hairdryer did not feel safe to use. The bathroom sink was blocked. Both girls doubled as receptionist and waiting staff at breakfast, likely to lead to logistic issues and delays if you have an early train to catch needing to check out at breakfast time. The hotel details on Expedia indicated a room safe was available but it turned out that none of the rooms had electronic safe. Unfortunately, there was no safe deposit box in reception either. A discussion with the owner based on what we had booed on Expedia and what we were getting, wasted a good half hour.It was disappointing to be told by the owner that she was not responsible for what was stated on Expedia and that given our expectations perhaps we should have considered staying elsewhere. This did not give me a perception of the owner being service oriented and further discussions would have been fruitless. Overall, and despite the two young ladies’ efforts, I would not stay here again and the price of 126 euro per night was not justified for what the hotel is offering.

Wir haben bei ebookers ein Zimmer mit 25 qm bestellt und dies wurde auch von ebookers nach extra Anfrage auch so bestätigt. Vor Ort mussten wir aber um diese Zimmergrösse zu erhalten, einen Aufpreis von Eur 30 bezahlen, da wir 2 Nächte geblieben sind enstanden uns Mehrkosten von Eur 60. Gemäss Aussage des Hotels sei dies ein Fehler von ebookers. Ich habe mich prr e-mail an enookers gewandt aber nur die Antwort erhalten, ebookers würde sich mit dem Hotel in Verbindung setzen und abklären. Das war vor 2 Tagen und seitdem nichts mehr gehört.

The Hotel Broletto is a charming hotel in the heart of Mantua, only steps away from the historic sites and museums.
