This is a small, personal boutique hotel within easy reach of the walled city of Dubrovnik. From the moment we arrived the lovely concierge made us feel very welcome and could not do enough for us - & this was typical of the whole staff.
The hotel is quiet & small with a feeling of tranquility. We were lucky enough to have a room upgrade & were delighted with the facilities & fantastic views over the city. The food in the restaurant was superb & a pleasant change to the usual fare throughout the country.
There is only one issue, which is why we have marked the overall rating down. The hotel management insist on taking bookings for weddings in the gardens and bookings in the restaurant for large groups, which are not for guests staying in the hotel. This meant the peace of the gardens was shattered on 2 of our afternoons by large wedding parties, which forced us to retire to our room & we could not eat in the restaurant for 2 evenings as there were large groups which would have spoilt the lovely peaceful setting. The hotel manager was very apologetic & understanding & dealt with us appropriately and assured us that this issue is being dealt with for the future. This is a very, very expensive hotel by Croatian standards & would justify the price if it ticked all the boxes, but before booking I would check with the hotel that there are no weddings in the garden or large groups booked into the restaurant.
