This was our 2nd stay.
Staff friendly room was great. Rooms nice and warm on a cold December night looking out over market square.
Staff great so honest I lost my ring and it was found in the room. I was so grateful the ring was so sentimental to me.
I emailed the owner Jon and he replied straight away.
I will definitely stay here again.

The room was lovely, very large and had everything you could need. Pub served great beer and staff were very friendly and helpful. Great spot on the square and close to all amenities. An absolute bargain. Would definitely go back.

Loved our room, the biggest let down was the breakfast, we ordered full English breakfast, it was over cooked and just poor quality plus the area it was served in was not very welcoming!

We arrived at 3pm, no answer for 4 or 5 minutes even though people were inside and we could see a television on. Eventually someone came and said there was an electrical problem in the kitchen. She said come back in half an hour. We came back and again were told to come back in half an hour. No apology or anything. After half an hour we still weren’t allowed in. We got a bad vibe so decided to book in somewhere else. We didn’t want to stay somewhere that didn’t seem to be safe or welcoming.

Good rooms with brill service and well stocked bar. Tasty breakfast too. Just frustrating for parking with disc zone so had to paro bear cricket ground on long stay. Only 5 mins away though and ylur literally in the market place. Would happily stay again. Good home made food too which is a bonus

Excellent room above a lovely pub on the main market place in Richmond. Very modern bathroom, with good shower and an excellent breakfast included in the price
Only real let down was the comfort of the bed, with the swings seemly old so had an aching back in the morning

Cheap and cheerful, but doesn't have wifi
This is overall a cheap stay, with quiet, clean rooms. I've enjoyed staying here and have stayed here three times in three different rooms, but it really cannot be considered to have free wifi in the rooms. Each of the rooms I've stayed in has only had partial wifi coverage, or intermittent coverage at best. In one of the rooms, I've had to use my own wifi login piggybacking an unknown BT home hub from somewhere nearby. They say the wifi is poor because they have old, thick walls, but I don't see this as an excuse, they just haven't invested in the internet, daisychaining a couple of boosters from somewhere. Internet is an important feature these days, arguably a necessity for a business traveller, so I will find it hard to justify staying here with work again.
