Lots of history and a fun experience
We showed up to Manresa after a long trip from the San Juan islands, and were greeted with an amazingly friendly front desk lady. She was enthusiastic about the ghost stories and was more than willing to answer any questions about the history of the building we may have had. I loved that we were welcome to just wander the building as we wished...there were old pictures all over the place to explore. The restaraunt was mexican food, but so good! Great, fresh ingredients, and decently priced for what we got. The room we had (216) was easy to find, and had two seperate bedrooms with one bathroom in the room. I saw other reviews stating the rooms didnt have bathrooms, but maybe that was their setup...we had an ample-sized bathroom with sink and shower in ours. The beds were actually really comfortable, and the sheets were soft and cozy. We had a decently sized closet that had extra blankets and two fans. There was a ceiling fan in one bedroom, a tv, a fridge, and a seating area with a small table overlooking the water. If I had to say one bad thing, its that the building is old (duh), so the floors/stairs/walls/pipes are noisy. The walls are thin, and if something is going on in the bar, you can hear it. These were all things I expected in a building that is over 100 years old. Adds to the charm, in my opinion. Trip included 2 adults and 2 kids (8 and 11).

An intriguing experience
This is an older building that has been renovated but it still has the charm of an older building. Lots of wood and high ceilings. It was inexpensive and for the money it was great. It is a couple of miles from downtown Pt Townsend so it is a long walk. The bar and restaurant were lively at night. Views from our room of the water and mountains were magnificent.

Manresa Hotel stay
Renovated old home/hotel - amenities updated well but only issue was the windows were old and drafty. Good heating though and window shades kept the drafts to a minimum at night.

Do not recommend
While the history of the castle and decor are neat, the bed and pillows were terrible, the room was bright with no curtain to block light from the opaque window in the door (which also made it loud), there was no internal lock on the door, and the sink was located outside of the bathroom with the only soap being for the shower. One front desk clerk was great, but the other was less than friendly, and we felt that only one door out of the building being left unlocked when we left (at 8:30am on a Sunday) is a fire hazard. The bar was closed on our Saturday night, apparently due to staffing, but the bartender in the restaurant was great. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Great Service!
We had a good stay at Manresa Castle. The building and its history are intriguing. Amber Dawn at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. She told us to try the Blue Moose something for brunch and we liked it. Bed was comfortable. The old elevator was cool.

The location and building have an interesting history, and it is in a convenient location. I have stayed at Manresa before, but they have not kept up with the maintenance. The room needed repainted, and the beds were lumpy and hard to get comfortable in. The sport lounge was not open at this time and the bartender overcharged me for two drinks, luckily, I caught his mistake and had him reduce the bill.

This property has lots of history and potential! It's beautiful. However, we had a room with no hot water and only one plug in worked, so we couldn't charge our families phones. We didn't complain because we were only there one night and didn't really need to shower (even though I wanted one). I was still happy! However, when we checked out, told the front desk lady about the plug in and cold water, only to be thoughtful for the next guests staying after us. We stayed in room 207. The lady basically told me that it wasn't possible. She asked if I left the hot water running to warm it up. I said "yes" for approx 10-12 mins and it was very cold. She said that was unlikely and not telling the truth. I wasn't lying! I am 52 years old and I know how to get warm water. I wasn't upset that we had cold water but I was unhappy with her response: I didn't need to tell her upon checkout, I was just being thoughtful for future guests. We will not stay there again!

Smallish older rooms but a really cool old building. Quiet, warm and a great price. Mini fridge and hair dryer in room was great. Very helpful staff. Lots of stairs but they have an person manner elevator if you need it.

Boring room, not much decor. Uninvitable. No room service. Coffee was never replenished. Not enough cream or sugar packets. Too much scrimping.Light came in through the glass door all night long. There should be a shade.
