Good value for a boutique style hotel near the Eif
A quaint boutique style hotel a very short walk from the Eiffel Tower. Hôtel was nice with excellent service, my room was smaller but met my needs, the shower was very small. Overall the hotel was clean, but starting to show its age…. There is no lift and carring your luggage upstairs may be a challenge for some.. does offer breakfast, several excellent restaurants and cafes a short walk away. The Eiffel Tower is a 5 minute or less walk away, lots of excitement views of the tower. The hotel was a good value, met my needs and I would stay here again.

Quaint, clean, and cozy
Exactly what you expect for a small boutique hotel. Rooms were small and bathroom even smaller. It was like having a room on a cruise ship. But 24hr security and clean and quaint. Good places to eat close by and was able to walk to all the popular landmarks or metro with ease

Good location. We enjoyed walking to Rue Cler and the Effiel Tower. It is also close to the Metropolitan train. It is convenient to everything you need for a wonderful stay in Paris. We were in room number 9 on the 3rd floor. You must go up a narrow winding stair case to get to the rooms. The room was tiny, so be prepared to live out of your suitcase because there is nowhere to store anything. You have 4 hangers total in the room with 6 hooks on the wall. The shower is so small that every time you turn to rinse the handle for the water shuts off because it sticks out. Bring your own wash cloth. The location and price was worth it. Highly recommend this hotel.

Small but enough conditions to stay for a couple of days in Paris. Located by 5 minutes' walk from Eifel tower - Very convenient if you want to stay late walking on the street and coome back walking to your hotel.

What a little gem of a find through Expedia 😊 Perfect location to walk to everything for a 3 night trip to France from UK. Appreciated the complimentary room upgrade which gave us bath access as well as shower😁 Considering it's in central Paris we found it really quiet. The ambience is very tranquil with all the greenery. Didn't eat here, but would definitely stay here again. Only minus quite honestly were the pillows (very hard and they couldn't replace, so we used the small ones). Staff were all great and helpful

Dependable service and helpful staff. Didn’t try breakfast but looked great! One small annoyance was a light that shown off and on (motion sensitive?) all night directly into the downstairs room windows (which did not have light blocking curtains). Easily managed with a thicker curtain (nice for modesty sake maybe too?). Overall lovely property in a very desirable area- convenient to all the “must go” attractions. Would definitely stay again

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring iconic landmarks and the train/metro stations were also close. There were also a wide range of restaurants and cafes surrounding the hotel. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was lovely! The bed was very comfortable and there was an option for your room to be cleaned daily. The room we stayed in was very small, but suited us for our stay. Overall, the Hotel Malar is a very unique property and is perfectly situated within an area of Paris that is brilliant for first-time visitors.

2/10 Poor

No elevator… so taking all my bags to the 4th floor was VERY stressful. The place smelled like mildew. The staff lied when they said “the WiFi is out today but it should work tomorrow” when I spoke to another guest, I was told the WiFi had been out all week. The room is in desperate need of remodeling. I had to buy spray to get rid of the horribly musty smell in the bathroom

Staff Julian was excellent at check-in. Three of us were traveling and we got three rooms. Hôtel rooms were clean but very small as well as the bathrooms. Hôtel was eco-friendly with motion- sensor lights which I loved. Also, the key card that opened the doors served as a switch for your lights and other devices in the rooms. Once it’s removed, all your power is out, Genius! Stay away from the breakfast, it’s not worth the 14 euros. Not many choices of food. There were no fresh fruits and the only fresh fruits were the oranges which I squeezed myself to get fresh orange juice. My friend wanted boiled eggs and she had to boil them herself. Basically, the 14 euros breakfast is DIY.
