The receptionist was the most helpful person ever. The restaurant had the best breakfast, and Termini station is a couple of blocks down the street.

35 degrees and no AC
The air conditioning didn’t work and it was 35 degrees Celsius. When I let the staff know, they said there were no other rooms available and they didn’t even offer to take a look. The internet connection stopped working in the evening and got back to normal only in the morning. I’m never staying here again!

The staff were pleasant and friendly. The location is near the train station, small shops, and restaurants. One bathroom was tiny, making it difficult to use the toilet. Other rooms provide better-sized bathrooms. The air conditioner was very nice. Many locks are involved, so security was less of a concern for this location. Peddlers can be aggressive at nearby restaurants. Just ignore them, and they'll go away.

The accessibility was the only nice thing about this hotel.
The room was quite noisy. The building was old and I think it has not been renovated since early 80s.
This place was not a 3 star hotel by any definition. It’s not recommended.

There is only unique for this property, that it is located close to Termini station, which we chose to be as we traveled to different places in Italy. The room was ok, surrounding area is not, very dirty, noisy and not safe.

Well priced charmer near Rome rail station!
Hotel Maryelen was a charming traditional European Hotel well located in Rome near Termini Rail Station, many historical attractions, and plentiful dining! It was very much as represented on the hotels.com web site. It was certainly not a luxury hotel but was very clean and had good water pressure and temperature. Because the building stays cool I did not need to turn on the available air conditioning. The lobby and reception area are very small but quite attractive. American guests will find the old fashion room keys surprising but they are easy to use. The lobby is locked at night but there is an alternate door for guests to use to come and go whenever they wish. The area is very historic and within a block or two guests will find exceptional tourist attractions. The large railway station is just a five minute walk away. It is a very old section of the city and visitors should be aware of that. The hotel does have a small elevator that works reasonably well. The entire set up would seem unusual to North American guests, as there are just a few rooms on each floor. A gloomy back staircase up goes around the central elevator shaft and is probably the least attractive part of the hotel. I thought the hotel was well priced and I would stay there again. I don’t recommend the optional breakfast, as I found better offerings at lower prices further down the block. The staff spoke quite good English, and were very helpful. The room windows opened which was nice.😇

Get what you pay for
It sufficed as a place to spend the night while at Rome. Was not especially comfortable. The bed was very firm, the shower was very small and the showerhead was giving us trouble.
The room was clean, the check-in/check-out process was very easy, and the location is a convenient short walk from the train/metro station.
Overall, it was a budget-friendly place to spend the night in while in Rome but not a room you’d want to hang out in to relax after lots of walking around the city.
