Nice but ...no water
Was pleasantly surprised the room was spacious and comfy beds. There was a very sparce supplies in the gift shop. No water for sale, they said because the have spring water coming thru the tap. This would have been fine except there was no water to the whole lodge on our last day there. Not ok. But overall staff was nice they even called me cause i left a few things behind in the room (very appreciative). House keeping didnt check our room the second day we were there and we ran out of tissues and toilet paper, thank goodness they had extra towels.

6/10 Good

The pros and cons of Callahan’s
Great location surrounded by pines and, although just a few yards from the freeway, it felt like it was well away. Nice holiday decorations. Big rooms and a comfortable bed. However, the carpet was gritty, and the breakfast, which promised to start at 6:30 am, proved to be without staff (kitchen dark), hot water, or anything fresh. I had to go in search of someone to get hot water for the oatmeal packet that represented the only somewhat appealing option; all three of the dry cereals in dispensers were sugary, as were the flavored yogurts (no plain yogurt) that, upon reading the labels, would supply me with 28% of the daily recommended amount of added sugars. In fact, if anything was truly in need of change it would be the F&B. At dinner in the sparsely populated dining room, the very nice waitress seemed to be so busy that we had to grab our own menus. The “New York” steak I ordered was so tough it was inedible and also salted to within an inch of its life. (To be fair, my friend ordered the fish and chips and said they were excellent .) The wine list was disappointing; Oregon is noted for its wines but nary a one could be found on the small list. There were almost more sugary cocktails listed than wines. I would seriously consider stopping here in the summer; the porch outside my room looked enticing despite the 26 degree weather and high winds. This lodge could be a real gem with some better management!

Rustic and restful
Beautiful lodge, beautiful room, and a comfy bed. Most things went well including attention to special requests and cleanliness of the room. Our toilet wasn't working, and there was low water pressure when we arrived and no water for an hour our second day, but front desk answered all questions and had all issues resolved quickly. Service for dinner was scattered, food was decent. Overall, easy stay with any issues promptly tended to. Simply be aware it is an older building and has some quirks like we ran into. Thank you for the restful stay.

Romantic, cozy get-away
Cozy romantic room with lots of amenities and atmosphere . The only downside was the inconsistent dinner service. We stayed twice, so ate there twice. The first time, after making reservations at the time suggested by the restaurant staff, we had fantastic service. The second time, we came down at 5:00, and quite a few other couples had the same idea. We all got terrible service, absolutely horrific.

Amazing hotel!
We loved this hotel so much that we can't wait to come back! The room was super clean, staff was nice. The fireplace has a really nice touch and breakfast was great. The hotel has many amenities that we didn't get the chance to check, but we will definitely come back for more! Totally reccommend!

Loved it!
It was an amazing stay. We had room 40 and it was very very nice. It was our second time visiting the lodge. This time we went all out and ordered food at the diner. Got the stroganoff and burger. Stroganoff was great! Burger wasn't all that, but I will just order something else next time I do visit. Clean rooms. Nice staff. Amazing location. Truly a great place to stay.

So much potential
It had the potential to be the best place we’ve stayed but little details were missing. Lack of weather stripping on outside door meant whistling sound from wind. Beautiful fireplace but screen was ratty and log holder half gone. Sound of elevator constantly No clock on radia Coffee maker inoperative Firewood supple bin empty, etc.
