FABULOUS LOCATION

Lovely location, but the huts were tired although very clean. Kingsize bed and 2 singles in the room, but only one chair. No bedside tables to put anything on. Communal kitchen area was tired and dated but useable. Showers were clean, but dated. Restaurant food was good and there was also a small petrol station on site.

2/10 Poor

Never again

The young staff was more interested to spend time on the phone then looking after costumers. Overheard multiple conversations where the staff complaint about costumers. We had nearly two hours with no electricity. When it was back on the first thing I heard “ at least costumers have nothing to complain about” that was said to other costumers. Hole property has no security lights. So going to the toilet in the night seems very unsafe. It smell of chlorine and air fresher and looked clean. But everything looks like it’s old , damage and not looked after. In the kitchen was minimal things for making a meal. So make sure you bring your own. Only two little fridges so not much space to storage your staff. My worries were just ignored and I was talked to like so rude.

The private Chalet has a small bathroom . The Radiant heater in the room is something many people are not used to. I would not stay here again most likely. Nice staff .

Lovely cosy clean place with heating and warm bedding and lovely views. Retro light switches were an interesting blast from the past. Expedia stuffed up our booking that I made 7 months prior to travelling which was to accomodate 4 people (I had booked a 2 bedroom chalet that could fit up to 6 on Expedia but turns out that was never available and the space provided to us was actually for 3). The staff kindly provided an air bed to accomodate the whole family which was appreciated as trying to find alternative accomodation in a tiny town at the last minute is not possible.

The A frame economy accomodation was accurate to so many reviews I’d read. Clean, a little dated, comfortable beds and nice linen, reasonable cooking facilities and fridge etc. Shared shower area was ok but shared toilets clean. Suited my family of 5 adults across 2 cabins for an easy stop over from Manapouri to Franz Joseph. Good value, kind staff. Thanks for having us 🙏

Lovely spot, spectacular views. A-frame cabins a bit old. Cooktop was great convenience and destined soon for a museum. Beds were hard. Toilet out back looking old and broken. Not one deck chair at pool. Rough concrete edge my son didn’t like. Ok for an overnight.

Cozy cabin, we booked a 6 sleeper and the kitchenette was a godsend. Communal kitchen well equipped. Do double check for large parties that you have beddings for everyone. There are not so many power outlets in the cabin though, go to the communal kitchen if you have a lot of equipment to charge.

Room with kitchen and bathroom was okay. Basin tap hot and cold was separate so need to mix the water manually, this can improved. It’s located in middle of all glaciers, very convenient to visit the most pristine glacier around it.

Very quiet space in a tiny town, close to nature and great views. Only downside was the wifi was weak in our cabin but it's a good way to disconnect for a while.
